Just found the link that confirms that the latest ranking will be used to determine the draw for round 4:

    http://www.the-afc.com/en/news-cent...35931-afc-announces-key-competition-decisions

    "2014 F1FA World Cup Brazil™ - Asian Qualifiers Round 4 - Draw
The Committee decided to take the latest FIFA/Coca Cola rankings at the time of the Draw for Round 4 as F1FA Ranking has already been implemented for Round 3."

No idea when the draw will be yet, but it'd have to be between February and June sometime. Hopefully the lads will keep winning and rising up the rankings!!

la north wala ba6ee5, the Kurds cannot make a decent atmoshphere and top of that some of them only go to the games to taunt our team. (watch the video of youtube where some of them are chanting chees chees Iraq).

Going by our current form, I'd say every group is hard.

In the final round there is no easy path :p

Though going by results of the last 3 games we're second in the form table for AFC qualifying :p

I'd happily have us pulling off 1-0 wins in the final group phase even if we're playing shite football. Consistency is the key to success in long qualifying campaigns, and we seem to lack that

Well, that i didn't know. Wil ni3em la3ed. I always thought that many iraqis from all over iraq have fled to the north so they can attend the games. Plus the fact that the kurds are not doing us a favor and are promoting Arbil this way. Oh well, in the meantime we are playing abroad instead of in our country.

Amrizzle, you can find the full games on youtube. It's uploaded by someone by the name kooralraqia or something like that.

Of course it was the minority that was chanting such stuff, but to be honest, the negative vibes could be felt during our games there. I'm sorry to say, but the local crowd was not really interested in real support. I'd rather play infront 500 persons in Doha than in Arbil again.

I also would like to say that the power cut was not the only reason why FIFA moved the games outside Arbil. There were also problems with the seating, lack of security persons and media persons being present at places where they shouldn't be . Unfortunately for us, IFA went on to play the victim card, blaming it on the match commissioner and accusing the Chinese of being behind it instead of admitting their own mistakes. And the media has followed that style. It's the old Iraq is victim theory.

We have to be honest, a game in Baghdad needs a hell of an organization (we know Iraqi football fans), security and decent planning. Things that this IFA cannot even spell.

A game in Baghdad (or else in Iraq) needs a stable and safe country and not the wild wild west. The IFA and other people who respresent Iraq internationally feel the need to prove that iraq is safe now and is perfectly suitable for events. This is unfortunately far from reality.

Looking forward to tuesday's game. In the first game against Jordan we played well before they scored. But then we gave the space away which is deadly against such a counter-attacking team. I am sure that Zico learned from that game and will instruct them but primarily our defense have to show a good performance (not the performance that we saw against china).

I'd imagine Zico has learned a lot from our first encounter with Jordan.

The thing to note is, Jordan have employed the same tactics to beat teams since the Asian Cup in January. They are a very decent side, hell they were beating Japan 1-0 until extra time in that tournament.

If we're to beat them we have to take our chances and really hit them hard early before they can counter. Watching the highlights of all their goals conceded in these qualis and the Asian Cup it seems they struggle with crosses. So maybe we need to get balls in the air and punish them that way, their defenders were static trying to defend when the balls came in from the wings.

And i think we should utilise karrar more. The trainer has the best view over the team so i think he knows which eleven players are the most ready to start. But Karrar really adds something extra to the team so i would like to see him brought in around the 60/70th minute of the remaining games.

Karrar was awesome, he completely changed the matched when he came on! Credit to Zico for brining him on early! Great 2nd half. The ref tried to screw us over by not giving us a clear penalty but we prevailed in the end! Iraq!

To me it's the first time when the last match won't decide everything for us (was too young back in 1993) :p

Now Zico and stuff need to start working for the final round. We'll meet much better teams there. It won't be easy.

No doubt, will require hard work. A good set of friendly games between now and the draw won't go amiss and will help our seeding.

We're the form team in the qualifiers atm, 4 wins on the trot :p

We have got those upcoming matches against syria, bahrain and qatar; enough games to try different tactics and players.

BTW: I saw an interview with younis a few days ago and he said that zico promised them in case of advancing to the final qualifiers that there would be some strong friendlies and training camps in europe

Yeah we have the Pan Arab Games, the match against Singapore and we should schedule some friendlies. Most important thing is to try out new players and give the experience. We need depth to our squad and more younger players.
