OK, so Iraq has one of the longest football histories in Asia? Emm, so what? If what you're saying is true (that football first came to Iraq before Iran or other countries), who careS? that makes no difference! The accomplishments count, and LOTS of countries are ahead and further in Iraq in both accomplishments on a team and individual player level than Iraq ... including Iran by miles!!

Anyway, what your post indiciates is that you're a man in his 30-40s, which is sad ... it's not just your English, but your logic that needs to be rectified.

Anyway, I have nothing against Iraq (I don't care how you talk about how great they are, were or going to get etc.), but when you mention it comparitively to Iran (my country) or another country (if I feel like responding) that is so far ahead (that it warrants no comparison), than I will answer you back.

    Peace

Why is it that certain rivalries continue to flood topics about the WHOLE of asia in general?

I've always noticed that most of them are about Iran against another team...

It was our U-23 Asian Games team [with the exception of Cha Du-ri (25)] that played against the Ghana A-team. We were able to defend many attacks and even got to score. For an Asian U-23 team, I think that's a good result against Ghana.

Nope. He's 25 now, IIRC. He was the only person on the team that started who isn't in the Asian Games Squad. We could have fielded Oh Beom-seok (22), but Cha Du-ri won't be sticking around for the Syria game and had to leave right after Ghana game. Verbeek put him in the squad to see how he plays, I think.

Iran and Iraq share similar history (a LOT!) ... so what you're saying is true. Lots of Iraqis have some Persian blood in them too. Baghdad is actually a Persian word as well, and so is Fesenjoon :=D:).

    Peace

So yes Kuwait plays Lithuania today at 9pm local time... but the match against Singapore is still not confirmed although I have seen it on the FIFA official site... it will be good if that match can be arranged as Kuwait is desperate now to arrange a friendly before the match against Bahrain in the ACQs.

Kuwaiti FA has officially announced that it cannot play a friendly against any Gulf team except Saudi Arabia or Iraq because of the Gulf Cup draw... they are currently negotiating with the Saudi FA as it is more difficult to arrange a friendly against Iraq's A team because their players play in different leagues.

So, a friendly against Saudi Arabia seems to be the first option now. (nothing confirmed yet)

i hate making excuses, but it actually was a Ghana A-Team vs Korea B-Team.
i couldnt even recognize half the players on Korea's squad for that game. but it was a choice that our coach Pim had to make. its time to throw out the old and in with the new. we cant keep using our veteran players for long, theyll retire sooner or later
