SEOUL, South Korea — Fans turned out in huge numbers in South Korea to cheer for their team in the World Cup, though they went home disappointed after a 2-1 loss to Uruguay. Police had estimated over 900,000 supporters would turn out Saturday in public locations across the nation. Nearly 400,000 were expected to gather at sites in Seoul. A final tally could not immediately be obtained. Fireworks lit up downtown Seoul as South Korea scored a goal in the second half that levelled the match at 1-1. But the joy didn't last as Uruguay scored what proved to be the winning goal soon after. "It was a fun match to watch but I guess we didn't have enough luck to win," said Oh Hee-taek, a 20-year-old student who turned out on a rainy night in the capital. Most fans wore red T-shirts and many sported plastic headbands with fluorescent horns — a trademark of the national team's official fan organization, the Red Devils. "We should be happy with the fact that we advanced to the round of 16," said businessman Kim Yong-guk. Despite the loss, drivers in southern Seoul honked in support of the team as fans trudged home, some cursing out of disappointment while others expressed anger for what they saw as unfair refereeing calls. ------------------------------------------------------------ 30/5/2010 Persija - Arema oficial attendance: 85 000. (unofficial - over 120 000). Not content to take its trophy and go home, Arema Malang ended a memorable league campaign by putting on a show. Playing in front of 85,000 fans at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, including more than 100 busloads of its own supporters, Arema thumped Persija Jakarta 5-1. The victory left it atop the Indonesian Super League with 73 points. “It’s a joy playing in such an atmosphere. It was created by both Persija’s fans and our fans, Aremania, who came all the way from Malang. They created one of the best atmospheres for the grand final,” Arema coach Robert Rene Alberts said on Sunday. ----------------------------------------------------------- Korea Record Attendance Of 61,000 Sees Dejan Damjanovic Star For FC Seoul A record K-League crowd of 60,747 saw FC Seoul thrash Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma 4-0 on Wednesday to move top of the standings. The vast majority of the fans at Seoul World Cup stadium were hailing the talents of Dejan Damjanovic who scored three of the goals. The Montenegrin international scored once in the first half and twice in the second to put the hosts on their way. Lee Sung-ryeol completed a perfect afternoon with a late fourth. Seoul held the previous record attendance of 55,000 against Suwon Bluewings in 2007. Perhaps more impressive was the fact that after six consecutive defeats, 39,000 headed to Suwon to see the team held to a goalless draw by Daejeon Citizen. Suwon were left to rue a first half missed penalty by Brazilian defender Juninho. Gyeongnam FC started the day in top spot but were shocked as Han Sang-yoon scored the only goal of the game as Busan I’Park won 1-0. Ulsan Horangi are in third after holding Pohang Steelers to a 1-1 draw while Jeju United move fourth after a 1-0 home win against Daegu FC. Elsewhere, champions Jeonbuk Motors lost 3-2 in the Jeolla Derby at Chunnam Dragons while Incheon United won 2-1 at Gangwon FC.

I don't like Hai Phong Cement fans. They're violent, rude, disrespect, and they have violated a lot of rules.
