    Ashbourne Up'ards 1 - 1 Ashbourne Down'ards

    An annual football match that takes place in a village in Derbyshire. It is said the game has been going on for almost 900 years.

    It's quite a famous annual event here in the UK and it happened on Wednesday.

    The 'pitch' 3 miles long with no limit on number of players and a goal is scored when the teams get the ball to specific bridges on the river

    Awesome...I'm sorry I didn't see this one sooner. I've often gotten the feeling that I was in the middle of officiating a match like this whether it was an adult or U-10. :D

    Similar game as the original "Derby match". They don't tell you how many deaths occurred though.

    Look up Derby match in a search engine and they'll give you a story that it's related to the Epsom Derby a bloody horse race. That is total bollocks.
