I'm closing this thread for a two reasons:

1) It's no longer on topic for this board. You didn't take my subtle hint a page back and continued with this Landon Donovan tangent. Things like that really don't belong here. They belong on the various national team forums.

2) Too much trolling. Pestering someone is a form of trolling. Picking fights and arguments is a form of trolling. Prolonging fights and argument is a form of trolling.

Discussion on this thread could have been pretty interesting (and worthy of discussion in this forum) had some of you just used a little more diplomacy and delicacy. Spout off on the national team forums (if they permit such a thing), spout off on the world rivalries board - but on this forum, and on all the World Cup 06 forums, you should approach discussion with diplomacy.

This is neutral ground. Anyone who violates that spirit of neutrality will find themselves banned from here.

Simple as that.
