So, to paraphrase one of Mr. Wenger's past quotes, "if you are good enough to play for Arsenal, you are good enough to play for England; the reverse is not necessarily true".

Hey, look who's starting for England today: Bentley and Upson!!!

    Ha!!!

Oh, and if you want to delete England from that quote, you can instead substitute France, Germany and/or Brasil to that quote...

What a great team we have!

England COULD accomplish something but every time i see them play i get the feeling theres too many people that want to be the star or leader and they get in the way of each other. They have the ability, but ive always thought they lack cohesion between each other.

Although if anyone can win England something, its Fab.

Thats why Arsenal players are better then the Eng NT players, because they play for the love of the club and teammates, and Eng NT players seem to have lost their way...

    and team usa is?

we had a rubbish coach/staff and a ********** before who diddnt go after games...

in capello i beleive we have the best available, and im hoping for change

bentley is a good player, i dont think he fits arsenals system though...and upson is average, strange call up!

they are proof arsenal has a quality youth system, and im looking forward to the randalls and such coming through in the next few years

just because someone says "England is not that good" doesn't mean they are saying that their own NT is better then England.

Well, they're going to have do step up and beat somebody good. Imagine if they lose to Scotland over the summer.

Are they not going to do the Home Countries over the summer? I thought they were going to try.

I think it was justified upto when the FA pulled their thumb out of their rectum and recruited a quality coach. If ANYONE can get this team to do something, its Capello. And i love the fact that he is getting everyone to go to breakfast together, and no other people in the team hotel, and no playstation etc etc. If thats all true, he has already made a great start.

i was being very sarcastic, plus i don't follow the american national team. i mean i do, but i'm serbian and that's my national team. look at my avatar and my hometown club.

However I do agree. Lansbury and Randall are the two prospects I want to see starting at Arsenal in the next 4-5 years.

And as for the swiss vs england game... there was a feeling of change. The methodical English approach I hadn't seen since Eriksson was impressive. It's that grinding out quality that the English sometimes lack I feel. England might not play great football, but if there is one man to get results it is Capello and I support the FA's decision. At that point there was no better manager for that post, and I include Mourinho in that discussion.

Upson was a strange inclusion, but he has been in form for the Hammers as has Jenas been for Spurs. Jermaine has actually been playing his best football in my opinion since going to the Spuds. He actually had a sliding tackle in the game! I hadn't seen him go to ground to win a challenge in a long time..

His attacking play has also been impressive.

As for Bentley, he was the man of the match for me. The second half he was the main creator, and that was once again brought up by Capello's change of putting David in the middle and getting Wright Phillips on the right.

If there is one thing I like that I've seen so far is that players are coming into the squad on form, not on name alone.

That's been said before by a lot of people but I think that's one of the key differences. Something tells me everyone wants to prove themselves...
