Hindsight is always 20/20 but we should have build the stadium to hold 65,000, 68,000 or possibly even 70,000 people. I think we could have still easily filled it with some more of those plastic fans who seem so willing to give their money up to the club.

60,000 seats is perfect. It's more important to sell out every game than to have excess capacity. Having more demand than supply is what sells season tickets, and especially club level seats, where the big money is made. When they announced the attendance to the Bolton match it was only about 59,500. I was wondering if that was because Club level ticket holders couldn't be bothered to show up for a team like Bolton.
You could easily fill in the corners and add about 5,000 to the capacity. 65,000 should keep you doing.

60k is fine. The stadium doesn't look to me at all like it was designed to be added onto. Structurally filling in the corners just doesn't look feasible. In addition the strains of 60k on the local transportation system are already pretty harsh. It's not the number of seats that matters, it's, for better or worse, the club level and the suites. Adding 5k of normal season tickets really wouldn't be doing much to the bottom line.
Arsenal have spent the last 10 years matching Manu (or very close to it) spending on average £5 mill a season on transfers. If we can do it, then someone else can too...

Often people say that there is no money for transfers, but every time an article like this comes out Arsenal is right there with the big earners in England. I have to think the transfer money is really there if AW asks for it. I think he just doesn't ask for it.
correcto wenger doesnt want to spend money because that would heap the pressure on him only a very elite group of managers can cope with the pressure big spending brings spend big and there's no excuse for failure wenger wouldnt want that

Bernard who contributed is a friend of Judy and mine and is a shareholder. The financial stuff is much the same as what I said on the other thread. The figures are from last summer. The 210M has now gone down by abut 20M and the profit from the apartments is very conservative and took into account a rise of 5% when the actual rise has been along the lines of 8-12% per annum.

Rick, he used the total Arsenal Group debts to arrive at his figure of total debts, as did I in the other thread ($375 million last year v 327 million in February 2007). You berated me for not separating them into Football club debt versus construction company debt. Why not give him the same treatment? I dont ask you to pretend to like me, but please be consistent on the issues, regardless of who is raising them.
