I would be surprised if it was someone in-house. I think it would be best to hire someone who has FA, FIFA, or UEFA politico experience. Reason being, AW doesn't need anyone to really scout or form a club, since the system is already in place. We need someone who will represent us well in international committee's, and with wooing talent. I would think our scouts or other staff would be a little under-qualified.
Interesting. But at 74, he sounds a little old for a long term appointment. Wonder if Wenger is looking for someone to help him out for a year or so?
What about Paul Le Guen? I don't know what happened to him after the Rangers debacle, but he and Wenger have a pretty good relationship. There was even talk on here a while back about him taking over after Wenger retires. We are after all starting to run a little low on Frenchmen.
He was out of work for about 2 days before Paris St-Germain picked him up. I think he's got a few years of work before his stock is high enough again.
after lyon he was a candidate, but after rangers he is not the monaco fellow is a good bet even hoillier is a possibility
According to the Guardian you should, "Apply in writing to Arsenal Football Club, Emirates Stadium, London N5 1BU."
My vote would be for Arsene to move to the front office and to get a new manager in. Love Wenger, but tactics/game day management aren't his strong suit. Everything else is. Of course, that's a pretty long shadow he would cast...
From the BBC Sport Gossip page; The stories haven't made it to the paper's websites yet. Garde is currently Houllier's assistant manager at Lyon. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/6618145.stm A little more info; http://www.sportinglife.com/football/overseas/france/news/story_get.dor?STORY_NAME=international_feed/07/04/23/SOCCER_Fra-Lyon.html&TEAMHD=france
According to the Guardian, Wenger is also considering Nicky Hammond, Reading's DoF. http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2072074,00.html
grimandi is a possibility i know hes found alot of the french youngsters wenger likes is he also responsible for cesc or was that a scout based in spain?
ive been thinking maybe steve rowley could even be a possibility. but maybe his love for tracking player ABROAD might be a deterrant
Well it appears as if Nicky Hammond has ruled himself out. However, the situation over at Valencia has ended with Amedeo Carboni being axed due to personal conflicts with Quique Flores, back to the Arsenal POV he's shown hes capable of doing the dirty work and is ambitious in his transfer prowl. So, what do you guys think of the prospect of him in the Arsenal back office, and two, what do you think the chances are? Personally I think he'd be a great fit, but I highly doubt Arsenal would even make an approach. If he has one thing going for him it's that he's around 42, quite the youngster when it comes to the board, might interest Wenger.
Viera is talking about how he thinks that Wenger will probably leave because Dein is out...which makes no sense at all because Wenger himself is appointing Dein's successor. Viera is really starting to get on my nerves. I have all the confidence in Wenger that he will pick the right man for the job.
All our ex-players are bitter at being dumped. They thought they were too valuable and we'd just take their flirtations every summer with other clubs sitting down.
does anyone think that once Kroenke completes his takeover that Dein will be re-appointed...he was in favor of the deal to begin with afterall.
Mybe off topic but do you guys think the main reason Vieira got dumped from Arsenal was because he flirted with other teams?
