As some of you may know, Rick B purchases literally thousands of dollars worth of tickets each week, all for the benefit of Americans who are coming over to see a game. ArsenalAmerica's dues (that $3.65) go into a kitty that helps facilitate these purchases via the ArsenalAmerica debit card, but it hasn't been enough so we had to find some other sources to cover the outlays. As you know, to use a debit card, you have to have the cash in there to start before you can make a transaction. And to accomplish this, we had two donors from these messageboards that chipped in $1,000 each as a loan to ArsenalAmerica. The first of these loans has been returned (almost all the tickets are bought for this season) and I am pleased to announce that Nick (n4100), a regular on this board, was one of the contributors. He doesn't like to toot his own horn, but I'm forcing the matter because I really want to say thanks for putting his cash on the line to help the other members of the club. So feel free to pass along your own thanks to Nick for his help in getting us tickets this Spring.
Three Cheers for Nick!! As always true Arsenal Supporters are friendly, intelligent and class from the navel out in all directions. So good to read of these heroics after reading of the actions of some two-legged piece of fecal matter elsewhere on these boards. Keep The Faith Bob Hobbs
I just want to say thanks to the other person and Rick, forget about me, because it took three to tango. Thanks for your thanks, but really, I had a chance to help the supporters out, and Rick, because after all he's done for us (and me, including getting me so drunk I puked in a trash can right in front of the Notting Hill Gate tube station) I felt I had to do whatever I could.
And it's sad, but true, that you will forever be thought of as "Nick who puked in the dustbin" rather than "Nick the generous benefactor of Arsenal America". (Classy thing to do by the way**) (**the loan not the vomiting!)
Oh, right, because I'm the only person who after a night of drinking with Rick has puked! I'm almost thankful you had to drive back to Manchester after that Boro match, because lord knows with tequila I don't think I would've made it back to Notting Hill!
Oh no, he just stays in bed until 8pm the next day. I do hear that Dan and Bready have their own stories though!
I haven't puked either! (But that is mainly due to the fact that my wife dragged me home before it got to that... there, beat you lot to it!)
lol...I do and I'm actually wearing the shoes that a water pipe protected from splatter I made sure to put my feet behind it so no mess on them!!!
I was witness to GP's spotless shoes from our late afternoon walk from Finsbury Park tube. I don't know why he keeps 'em so spotless... it's not like he only has one pair Nice one Nick. If there's a pot for next year let me know as I'd put in some ducets....
