Im all about giving Eddie his chance but dont want him to perform well enough to make Edu/Mikel think we will be fine at ST until Jesus gets back. At a minimum, I think we need a #9 that is really good at making an impact off the bench. That would also be useful even when Jesus returns.
Yes, first time since 2018. Cut to him on a replay. No indication that they acknowledged him at the ground on the PA, but I would hope they do.
The whole attack is made so much worse when he plays because he never does anything unpredictable. Jesus draws defenders out of position all the time because he has great movement and creativity. Nketiah is just...flat. Straight-line runner, horrible first touch, can't shoot.
Can't put his foot through the ball and direct it, either towards goal or a teammate. Seems like an important trait idk
Tierney was poor, Saliba screwed up, and Eddie is a championship player starting for a team trying to compete for the premier league title.
Flat game, slow passing and easily countered I knew wenger was here but I did t realise he had conceived the game plan
I think tactically, Arteta wants Gabriel to be the CB that pushes up and gambles and tries to win the ball higher up, knowing he has Saliba's recovery pace to clean up. That's preferable to the other way around, or having both CB's conservatively sit deep. Obviously didn't execute properly there and paid the price.
West Ham looks to be lined up more defensively now. edit: Odegaard with a perfectly weighted through ball....
