I decided to make this thread now quickly because:

    • I think I/we could use a repository for a more positive, forward-looking, dare I say, hopeful mindset
    • I wanted to start it before we know what the Pep Boys get up to in London, so that doesn't "taint"
    • Earlier this season I did thread duties during a 13-match undefeated run. So I decided what the hell, maybe lightning could strike twice. Or at least I might make it to the Citeh thread!
So, to you fellow BS'ers I say "Here ya go!", and to our midweek squad I say "Have a go!! ... please??!"

No injuries, get some goals, and rotate some legs.

I really want us to take a few goal lead early so we can rest Zubimendi for Norgaard, or give MLS midfield minutes.

Sporting will be up for this but like Guinness they don't travel well.

I can see this being 1-1 at HT before a 3-1 or 4-1 win.

Cup Mode Martinelli to score 2 and assist 1.

Thanks but you're not hoping for that as much as I am. ;)

Listening to today's Handbrake pod, which aptly was renamed "Handbrake ON" for today's episode, and Amy Lawrence said something that made me think of this little ditty from the 80's...

Apparently Rice wasn't in training today, in addition to Odegaard, Saka, Timber, and Calafiori being out.

Yikes. It'd be nice to imagine these as mostly for rest/rotation before Sunday's even huger match, but sadly the odds are strong that they're because of injury/recovery. Our physiotherapy and coaching staffs must be shitting bricks this week.

Don't know if any of you are in a similar boat, but because of what day of the year it is in the US, I will most likely have to miss today's match live. A rarity as you know. So just in case I don't have time to come back here between now and then...

Wouldn't mind if they were rested for precaution. All eyes on City plus looking at Romero and Ekitike, we need to preserve our guys.

I must have missed the details on Saka’s injury. Do we know what it is and what the timeline is?

Good to know we have a dude on the bench.:D:D

There have been more goals in the other game than shots in this one. Long may it continue.

For a player of his talent, it's surprising how poor Eze is with his passing sometimes.

It's taking forever for any of our players to get the ball of their feet. Multiple shots failed due to too many touches.

Sometimes. He is dropping deep a lot to pick up the ball and get deal with the mid-block.

These moments in the box where we're waiting/hesitating half a second is killing us.
