Spurs on their way out if it stays as it is.

Can't see the tweet. Still getting the "1372637479396909059 is not a valid tweet id" error in BigSoccer.

Anyway, I have a hard time labeling that a good performance. Sure we were on top for the first 15 mins, and we created quite a few chances, but as you say we were absolutely profligate in our finishing. Pathetic really. No way we can advance further playing like that.

Edit: Now your tweet shows up and I see it's about how we out xG'd them by a mile. Proving yet again that xG doesn't win your matches.

p.s. Zagreb just went up 3-2 on AGG so as long as Spurs don't score, I could be in a slightly better mood.

    Goodbye, Jose

    Dinamo Zagreb 3, sp*rs 2 FINAL

Before the match, CBS showed sp*rs as the 5/1 favorites to win the Europa League. Oops.

Just because finishing was bad doesn't mean the performance was bad.

If we play like that and Aubameyang doesn't have his worst game of the season, it's an extremely comfortable result.

Therefore, the overall performance was good, but some individuals were poor.

Agree to disagree. Whatever the stats say, it did not feel like a good performance to me. I thought Odegaard was one of the few bright spots... when he came on we finally looked like we really wanted to win the game. Prior to that, not really.

Yeah, call me old school, but if we win the game on xG stats but lose the actual game, that doesn't exactly please me.

Edit: It looks like Mikel might feel a little bit likewise, see my following post

Add to that the patented Luiz retreat retreat retreat mode of defending. So frustrating.

That’s the (or one of the) thing(s). Not to defend Ceballos (he was awful today), but we had the numbers and the shape to defend that. Our collective fear of El Arabi today was palpable, but also inexplicable.

I won’t hold my breath. But hopefully he’ll be done with the EPL soon.

Not until the end of the season.

it might be the end of Kane at Tottenham if another club can afford him and give him trophies. Spurs just looks deflated

man, i hope not. we already have one london team figured their shit out by getting a competent manager, we don't need these assholes doing it too.

I sort of agree. We won the tie, which I expected us to, but it is worrying that we lost at home and couldn't score a goal. It doesn't auger well for the next round.

Yeah, we played like crap but nonetheless still had more than enough chances to win the match. I'd imagine from here on out, we'll see Partey, Xhaka, and Odegaard in the midfield, with ElNeney only in mop-up roles. So I'm not sure yesterday's performance will have much bearing on future performances.

That being said, what the hell has happened to Ceballos? Dude was great during the restart and showed signs of being good early. But over the last month, he can't seem to step on the pitch without creating more chances for the opposition than us.

    Quarterfinal and Semifinal draw:

    Arsenal/Slavia Prague v
    Dinamo Zagreb/Villarreal

    Ajax/Roma v
    Granada/Manchester United

So a semifinal against Emery and a final against United?

Those restart performances were the only time he was consistently good for the club. He has shown that he is a Real Betis-level player.

Yeah, with "consistently" doing the heavy lifting, you're definitely right. We've seen flashes here and there at other points, but not enough. I know which Real Madrid midfielder I'd prefer we sign.

I'd prefer semfinal against Emery and final against Granada, but that's prolly too much to ask.

I hope we can keep odegaard. Feels like Madrid might sell him to us if they need money to fund mbappe or haaland transfer
