AMN comes on at 120' A move forced by Cedric's injury. If Arteta & the club aren't trying to send Ainsley a signal about his worth, they're foolin me!
FT 2-0. Talk about leaving it late. Not exactly too convincing. But the young guns proved their worth again today, especially ESR and also Saka. Special mention to Tierney... and Leno.
Total control and domination in ET. Should have been that way in 2T to put them away. One thing that struck me: Remember earlier this season when we relied on Luiz, Elneny, and Xhaka as our primary distribution and conduits for attack? This squad is far more dynamic than a few months ago, but still with lots of room/need to improve. It is noteworthy and encouraging to see though.
Smith Rowe and Saka are promising from our academy. don’t know if Willock and Reiss will make it though
They'll have long careers in the Championship - which is much better than a lot of our Academy starlets
I forgot about that. At the time I was like "Oooooh!' when Xhaka hit that pass. And if you forced me to decide, I'd say that was my favorite component of the goal. Even more than the KT cross or the Auba finish.
BTW No one refers to the Newcastle Magpies Just like no one says Arsenal Gunners Not even the Germans Sometimes you will hear Arsenal London
I’ve basically never heard us referred to as Arsenal London, except for sometimes some clueless UEFA TV production folks who live on the continent.
You do hear it in Germany - similar to how FC Bayern becomes Bayern Munich in English - which makes no sense at all. Munich is not part of their name, just how London is not part of Arsenal's name. I think we talked about this before and it is some kind of UEFA standardisation?
I just noticed it in the thread titles e.g. you would refer to "Chelsea" or "The Blues" or even "Chelsea London" (Germany) but no one ever refers to the Chelsea Blues
Exactly!!! I never saw any reason to object. Well except when he called them the WBA Throstles... hello?!
Fußball-Club Bayern München e.V. Isn't that the club's name? München has also been on their crest since the 50s.
They are usually known as FC Bayern over here, or simply Bayern, whereas in English they are always referred to as Bayern Munich - but it makes no sense because then it should be Bavaria Munich. Like I say - there is no logic to half this stuff.
