Trippier's done a good job against Martinelli so far. Haven't created the usual havoc down the left. Dan Burn isn't good.
32' Nketiah picks up a stupid yellow by pulling the shirt of a player who was in their own half... no danger.
34' Free kick by MO8 from 30+ yards out. Gabriel's header floats just 2ft wide of the post. That coulda/shoulda...
Saliba with a vital block/tackle there on the byline after Zinchenko gave the ball to NUFC in our half.
Jason Tindle(sp?) the NUFC assistant manager is spending too much time in their technical area doing stuff that's gonna get him booked soon me thinks.
40' Odegaard picks up a yellow with a professional foul. We're really pushing our luck with suspensions.
42' now Xhaka gets carded as well. Ugh! Marginal call I thought, but Andy Manley is not being shy about bookings today
Newcastle trying to make the match uglier than I envisioned/ hoped. Alas, need the lads to not succumb to the physicality and play their game. COYG!!
HT 0-0 A somewhat gritty 1T with some chippyness setting in. Arsenal had a slight edge in the stats, and were the only team to produce a few moments of beautiful football. Newcastle had their first dangerous chance seconds before HT. On the other side, they're very well organized as they say, which frustrated our normal style of play.
We may have gotten a little lucky right at the end of the half. Newcastle is a tough nut to crack, too. Not a team you want to fall behind against.
Newcastle are going to score. If we don't score first, we won't score at all. Would gladly take a 0-0 now.
Unfortunately right now, you really need to grab a quick goal in the second half, because there is literally zero attacking threat to bring on in impact subs
I don't understand anyone saying Newcastle look threatening. They're hoofballers. It's breaking them down that's the problem
That was 2-3 dangerous chances by Newcastle in about 1 minute. One of which was a total gift by Ramsdale. Jeesh.
