I'm no mangerial genius, but wouldn't Gallas mark Rooney?

Sol could cover Owen, then (Unless United play a 4-5-1).

Don't worry...Alex Song is going to shadow Rooney all the way through and if he gets past Song, there will be Sagna on the right side to tackle him down. Most of Rooney's runs are through the right and I am not too worried. Now Clichy versus Valencia will be an interesting matchup especially if Arhsavin plays on the left side in front of him. We know how much he loves to come back and defend...right?

Rooney has been playing more as a retracted forward lately and tracking back quite a bit. Not sure if that is by design or because ManU are a shit team and can use all the help that they can get in the MF. So, I think I defensive mid will be assigned to him. Song or Denilson I suspect but Denilson holds the left more than the right, so I suspect it will be Song.

Yes on both accounts..Song is really the one to have his hands full. Also Rooney likes to drift out to his left so Sagna will have to cover him a bit.

The papers are just fishing for a story line.

And Arshavin will turn their fullbacks multiple times in this game.

just some team news here according to arsenal.com....

eduardo wont make the team, the boss is doing everything he can to get vermaelen fit, and bentdner wont be able to start again since he is short of match fitness...

"It looked to be a two-month problem, now at the latest he should be ready for the Chelsea game." (Vermaelen)

Wenger also confirmed that Eduardo's hamstring injury will keep him out of the United match, while Nicklas Bendtner is also a doubt as he struggles for match fitness after making his comeback from a groin injury as a second-half substitute at Aston Villa.

"Bendtner looks at bit short," said the manager. "But I have not picked the team yet. To start Bendtner is going through my mind, but he has only one training [session] and 20 minutes of action in three months."

I suppose this means that both Nasri and Song look good to play...

    vs.

[LINEUP-4-3-3]Nani, Rooney, Valencia, Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Evra, Vidic, Evans, Brown, Van der Sar[/LINEUP-4-3-3]

    would be my guess.

I think we can definitely win this one. Watched the highlights from the corresponding fixture 2 years ago when we won 2-1 thanks to Samir. Basically the same situation: Gallas was paired with Tweety (Sol is a better option now), Bendtner was our lone striker, and it was a pivotal point in the season.

The no longer have Ronaldo, but we have Arshavin. And I think he's the match winner on Sunday. Big players step up in big matches. C'mon boys!!

2-1 to the Arsenal. GO ON YOU GUNNERS!!!

[LINEUP-4-3-3]Arshavin, Bendtner, Nasri, Denilson, Song, Fabregas, Clichy, Campbell, Gallas, Sagna, Almunia[/LINEUP-4-3-3]

    vs.

[LINEUP-4-3-3]Asshole, Cnut, Jerk, Tool, Hacker, Twit, Fool, Poo, Fooker, Wanker, Van der Sar[/LINEUP-4-3-3]

We were so much more dangerous going forward on Wednesday after he came in. I'd start him and then sub him out after 60 mins. In the last part of the game hopefully our pace and control can play a factor (although United will be up for that too...they're no Bolton).

So Kev, I guess it's safe to say that you don't have anything against Van der Sar, huh?

Anyone else hear that Man Utd fans were making machine gun pantomimes when Ade took the field in the CC match? Can't imagine why Fergie has found it necessary to tell them to tone down the Wenger songs for this match.
