HT 0-0. Parker should be pretty happy. And a big ole missed opportunity from our perspective. Especially considering that we put the ball in their net 2-3 times?
So clearly the rule does not gel with our new technology. Do we change the rule? Or do we just scrap var all together? My idea is that the referee gets to watch a play over but only at live speed. If no error can be judged by that then it stays.
It's supposed to be "clear and obvious", a goal like that shouldn't be reviewed. Watch it at full speed, if it looks level, don't use the digital lines to nit-pick it.
Uh-oh!!! VAR may come into play again... a tiny little foul in the box by us? OR... maybe VAR will pull it back due to offside? Yikes!!!!
Verdicts reached: 1. Penalty awarded 2. Penalty scored 3. We suck again Still time to recover. But we need 1 then 2 goals. Ugh.
Prior to that, I was going to say "yank Xhaka, he's just one tiny little bit of bad luck away from true injury". But now we don't really have much choice but to leave him in for the battle to retake this result.
That wasn't what tripped him. He felt a nip on his toe and then he jumped straight up in the air to draw the foul. Happens all the time, but I still find it annoying.
Uh-oh... THERE GOES ANY HOPE OF OUR SEASON Laca does his hammy Edit: I thought the Villareal match was in 4 days but apparently it's 11 days so... maybe there's still a tiny tiny hope of some miraculous recovery by Laca or Auba. But the odds seem very, very long right now. What did I say up top about risky overuse of players?
