It will be nice to see a club from outside the Premiership in the final.

I presume our semi will be at Villa Park. A chance to lay the ghost of '99.

They've more or less settled on Villa Park and Old Trafford every year now.

    Sunderland in the final then!!

They're laways played on a neutral ground and as Old Trafford is the biggest ground in the country, it's usually used. Villa Park being in the middle of the country is also used a lot. I heard these two had been decided on before th draw was made, it would have been silly if we'd have drawn Millwall, but it did happen a couple of years ago when we played (and beat!) Spurs at Old Trafford. It should have been at Stamford Bridge.

Once Wembley is finished I reckon they will play most or even all of the semi-finals there so they can make back some money to pay for the place.

I didn't know there was an england international between the two games. I'd say Sven will be missing a lot of Arsenal and Man Utd players for that one.

yeh, hopefully wenger will keep cole and sol out of this one. unless it's competitive, in which case we don't really have a choice. pointless internationals are really pissing me off

Here's a question for the Statos out there! Has any team ever played only top league opposition, in the qualifying rounds, on the way to lifting the FAC?

Drat! I'm going to be in the middle of nowhere that weekend, so I won't get to see the game. I wonder if there is a bar anywhere in Mendocino that will carry it.

If Arsenal and Manu get through to the quarter finals of the champs league and draw each other the fixture list will look like this,

    24/03-Manu v Arsenal (euro)
    28/03-Arsenal v Manu (League)
    04/04-Arsenal v Manu (villa park)
    06-04-Arsenal v Manu (euro)

Possible 4 games in 14 days

That WON'T happen. The CL draw is always rigged to keep English sides apart, and there is a significant chance that Man Utd won't even make it past Porto.

Erm no it's not. That only counts for the second phase.

Correct. After this current home/away round, all bets are off on the draw.

Well, this should at least put to bed any rumors that the FA fixes the draw to get the matches they want. The FA would have wet themselves at the possibility of a manUre/Arsenal final and all the hype that would have generated.

I'm guessing that the idiots who handle PPV in the States will feature the Sunderland v. Millwall/Tranmere match on PPV, just because they somehow have no concept of how to schedule.

Might the EPL move that Arsenal/manUre tie from that Saturday? This game has been moved to a weekday the last couple of seasons.

The league match is @ 11 ET on Sunday the 28th. The cup tie is also at 11 ET on Sunday on the 4th.

From what I can tell, both will be on PPV here in the States.

If the game ends in a draw is it a replay or penalty kicks? I think there is a distinct possibility that it could.

Well, I'd rather face them now. If Man Utd gets knocked out by Porto its all they have to play for. The semis will be their final in effect. The good thing for us is that Saha is cup-tied. Also, Scholes will miss one of the games. Either the league or the cup game due to suspension. I'd rather he be out for the cup game. We can afford a draw in the league but I want us to have the cup sewn up after the game.

What's the fun of playing a weakened team? I want us to beat ManU when both of us are playing the best available sides. I also want to enjoy watching the best 2 teams in the country with their full complement of footballing talent. It should be a cracking match. Who wants to watch a game without the best players on the field? If RvN does not play, for instance, doesn't that take away from the game?

Of course, I would rather win than watch an entertaining game. I hope it doesn't go to penalties!
