For lack of a "season reflections" thread, I'll put this here... On the Handbrake Off podcast they were asked to sum up the season in just 3 words... James McNicolas: fans came back (literally and figuratively) Amy Lawrence: not enough goals Adrian Clarke: good bad window
And that plus Kane and Son earned them all of two points more than Arsenal. In fact, but for a fortuitous handball in their game against Burnley last week, Arsenal and Sp**rs would have ended the season level on points.
As in most seasons, tons of sliding doors moments. How about Emerson's ridiculous shove on Jota but no penalty called? Several months later, that same ref (Tierney) doesn't hesitate for a second to call a much more questionable "shove" by Cedric on Son.
It just dawned on me that I'm probably cued up to make the thread for our opening match at Palace. If that's right, I'll do it sometime within the next week.
A little over 2 months on, the next thread's up... https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/palace-vs-arsenal-epl-05-aug-2022.2121960/
