I think the nominal defenders have spent about 20 seconds of the last 10 minutes in the defensive half. Dundalk really should plant a forward right on the halfway line just to keep them honest.
Would be interesting. But I wouldn't hold your breath. I'm just happy to seen Ainsley get a full 90. And as fullback, where I've always thought he was pretty good. Edit: I'm not really sure if he was LB of LM today. The graphic I saw showed him at LB but he seemed a bit more advanced, although I wasn't watching so closely. In any case, good to see him!
What's Balogun's story? I have no idea. But I like the way our nickname is kind of embedded in his last name.
Dual US-England national who has ripped up the youth leagues and was threatening to leave when his contract expires in the summer if he didn't get first-team involvement this season. We turned down a £3 million offer from Sheffield United for him this summer, and were demanding £15 million.
So let the dude get some PT! I don't recall him playing for USMNT... has he committed either way yet?
No. He's played as high as the England U20s and the US U18s. If he's good enough, he'll probably play for England.
How is that not a foul and a yellow???? Willock spun the guy and he was then pulled back by his shirt. Luckily the reffing isn't really so critical in this game.
FT 3-0 vs Dundalk. With 25 shots it really shoulda been more GD, but I'll take it. Not quite 5-0 vs Leipzig but it might just kickstart or energize us a bit as we head to the old tramshed. Hey, and we're top of the group... woohoo! Onward...
Getting called for 20 fouls with 0 for the opponent is good prep for the match vs. ManU this weekend.
