This one scares me just a tad, coming off a great win last Sat. @ the Bridge and now an impressive road win in Spain for the CL. I know Arsene will stress to the lads that Arsenal gave the title away last season...let's not repeat that disaster again.

Anyway, 2-0 to the Gunners. After the Arsenal score the 2nd goal, CAFC will give up.

    Come on you Gunners!!!!

Any away CL win is great, but I think our defense feels a little embarrassed, and rightly so. They were shoddy on set pieces, and I'm thinking that overall, we don't want to show any sort of let-down that would give a struggling ManU side any hope of catching us. I believe we will give a strong performance, and get our impressive defensive form back. 3-0 to the Arsenal!

Well at least they won't have Scott Parker biting at Vieira's ankles. I hope the lads are up for this match. It would be nice to see Henry put one or two in the net after a couple of matches that haven't been up to his normal high standards.

I totally agree. Don't get me wrong, I love TH14, but on Saturday at least, he looked nothing better then average. I realize it was just one match, but it would be nice to see his name in the scoring column again.

henry looking like average...did you miss the pires set-up? if the man stops scoring completely and continues to maintain his form in assists we will still outscore our opponents by at least a goal a game

Like I said, it was only one game, and I was talking strictly about the Chelsea match. If you saw it, you know what I'm talkin about. I realize Henry may be the best striker in the world, and his setup on Tuesday was excellent, but against Chelsea his touch was off, and he was misreading the midfielders. With that said, he WILL have a brace on Saturday. Henry for POTY in 2004

I agree but I still maintain that Henry himself is probably not 100 percent satisfied with his own performance the last 2 matches. That's why I said that he wasn't up to his usual high standards not that he played poorly.

    Nice advert!

    Gary,

There is a slight chance I will be there on Sat for the CAFC match. If I don't make the trek, I will definately buy the match on PPV....I feel out of the loop if I miss seeing too many matches, ie. not being able to catch the Celta Vigo match Tuesday, does my high school know that Arsenal matches trump my student's education..WINK!

Is anyone from DC going to be at the Lucky Bar for the game at 10:00 this Saturday? I'll be there for the Fulham game afterwards, but I love watching Arsenal play and was going to show up early to catch the earlier game.

So we usually have that post-CL hangover... having said that, at Highbury, against a feisty Charlton side.. I am concerned somewhat that we will get a draw and not the coveted 3 points... Edu certainly has cemented his place in the starting team and perhaps we can see Kanu get some more minutes....

    1-0 to the gunners.....................

should be cool as sturm is going to be in the charlton away section.. (for you dallas gooners)

Charlton always compete the full 90 minutes, but we should be able to ease by by 2-0 or maybe 3-0. We DO have the Euro hangover, but the extra day's rest will be key for us. I also believe the gap in quality between the mid-fields will seal it for us. I agree Henry will bag a brace-at least. He's due, and the combination work with Pires shows he's coming back around. I actually think if we score early it could be a breakout day for the attack, 4-0 or 5-0 or 5-1. At any rate could be another really big Saturday. Cannot wait...

I'm expecting a big day from the Gunners. Another solid performance from Bergkamp with Henry getting back on track. 3-0 to the Arsenal.

Can't see us losing this one. The team are confident and focused. I think there's more chance of Chelsea and ManU dropping points.

I wish for any scoreline which has the gunners ahead at the end of the game!! I do think this will be a tough one...Paulo D. kinda makes me nervous; he can be such an explosive striker when he wants to be (although he plays alot better at home).

    any links for audio?

    From London to Oz...
It'll be an interesting match for le Gunners. Charlton are a quality side but will be missing some players, and did concead two against lowly Blackburn last week. I think it'll be a 2-0 win, but it'll still be a slog, just hoping that Matt Holland doesn't do his best Van Nistelrooy impression again.

As far as the scorers go, with Ashley Cole hopefully returning to the first elevan I think Thierry Henry will score, and big Pat will get another goal just after half time.

I can see a big peformance today. If we score early I think Charlton will crumble after the poor run they've been on. 4-0 Arsenal.

Interesting statistic is that Thierry Henry has scored more against Charlton than any other Premiership club. He's scored 8 of his 101 against them.
