Is crack legal in England? I think Souness got a hold of some....lol. Pires and Freddie have taken their games back up to where we need them to win the title, Henry is the man! But we need the other lads playing great like they have been. Vieira will get back to his old dominate self. Blackburn is just what the physio ordered to cure an ailing semi-fit stud of a MF.

Arsenal will get a 3-0 result.

AHHHHHHHHHH yes.. the hangover from a brilliant european win... Really glad this is a home match I truly expect to see the boys come out flying.. Well aware of the recent draws we've had, but Blackburn looks to be a defeated squad.... maybe Keown gets a run-in.. Can we please see Edu start a match Arsene??? Regarding Toure, where cant this guy play?? I thought he was really good against Loko (RB) and he also impresses me as a Centre-half.. give aliadeire another run as well!!!

and catfish, as a kid growin up in chicago, i used to go to the movies at the OGDEN 6 (off ogden ave)~ from glen ellyn originally~ go blues mate!! hahahaahah

    phishy~

After the big mid-week win, I hope we dont come out flat. Ok enough worrying, 3-0 to the Arsenal.

Blackburn has actually been playing better lately so I don't think this will be easy. Hopefully, we'll avoid the post-CL hangover and ensure that Mr. Friedel has a miserable day.

I think it's a bit optimistic to think Blackburn will be pushovers. Clearly they can't dominate Arsenal, but if they play like Fulham did, they can certainly induce a very painful and dull draw. And if Pascal Cygan starts again, Rovers can certainly come up with one goal ;)

Friedel's not a bad keeper. It's his backline that sucks. If Arsenal can win the midfield game, Rovers haven't a prayer. If Arsenal slack off like they did against Leeds, it will be one of those "interesting" games. Argh.

do any of y'all remember that they beat us twice last season? i would not underestimate them even if they have not been playing well lately. they still have to be taken seriously or we'll get a rude awakening after 90 min.

Exactly. And I was at one of those games. I think it will be a tough game and Arsenal will win 2-1.

I'm glad someone pointed out they beat us home and away last season. They had some luck at our place, but were much the better at Ewood.

I worry that our player's distraction/tiredness, and a Blackburn starting to hit form might do us injury. Would be very satisfied if we won this one after the big European night midweek.

Souness is a canny old bar steward! Is he trying to do a Red Nose on AW? His players will have there stall set out like last year. After a run of better form Souness will be convincing them that any result at Highbury will prove that their season is back on track. He'll be looking for something a bit special from Emerton and hoping that Cole or Yorke's experience might give them 1 on 1 advantage against Toure and Cygan.

Does Ash's ban start straight away? If so my guess is Toure Campbell Keown Cygan at the back; a line that could be vulnerable to pace? AW's got the whole midfield to choose from and whatever combination he picks, I think he'll stick with with TH14 & DB10 up front.

Can't call this one at all? A draw would be okay, but, with the fixtures piling up in January and February, we could do with squeezing out every possible point before the New Year. Blackburn probably won't be a push over, if for no other reason than Friedel (please not another Van de Saar!), but, a couple of early strikes for us could open the flood gates.

    Come on you Gunners!!!

    Ahh my boy!

But that side had Duff and Dunn! Plus a very hot Freidel last season, this year he is quite vulnerable. I'm not taking them lightly, but they definately are not the same club this season.

    Re: Ahh my boy!

true, but an underestimated blackburn beat us last season and an underestimated different blackburn can still do damage this season. i'm counting on freddie to continue his run of form and knock in one to win it

    You are quite right.

Blackburn snuck up on us last season.

Pires and Freddie have been playing some fantastic footie lately.

Cole will be available, bans start 14 days after the incident, so he'll be out from next week. As he's not going to play for three games, I think Wenger should put him in the League Cup team on Tuesday to add some experience. It would be great for the youngsters confidence to have players like him, Parlour, Edu, Kanu etc. sprinkled throughout the side. The effect of Vieira playing alongside Cesc in the Wolves game was great to see. Also, I imagine Clichy will be playing for the first team while Cole is suspended, so maybe rest him from the left-back spot on Tuesday?

On to tommorrow's game and while Blackburn had a good result against Birmingham I think that was a coincidence of Birmingham coming off their early season high and Blackburn having a good day. I can't pick out one of Blackburn's players and say they've had a good season. If our lot play as well as they did on Wednesday I think a fairly comfortable win is on the cards.

    Team:
    Lehman
    Toure-Campbell-Cygan-Cole
    Ljungberg-Vieira-Gilberto-Pires
    Bergkamp-Henry

Subs: Stack, Keown, Edu, Kanu, Wiltord

Personally I'd like to see Keown in for Cygan, Edu for Gilberto and Aliadiere for Wiltord, but I doubt it. And I get the feeling that Parlour will have to be content with skippering the League Cup side when everyone is fit.

Hey Mr. Slippery, seeing as how you're friends with Brad's mother-in-law, you think you could do us all a favor and get her to tell the kids she's coming for an extended stay? I don't know what their relationship is like but I do know that every man dreads the thought of the mother-in-law visiting so it might make him distracted for Sunday.

While I agree that on paper we should be able to take this game without many problems, the illogical logic of sports has me worried. An overachieving team vs an underachiever, a team that hasn't lost vs a team that's found it nearly impossible to win, the sports gods must be pulling for Blackburn here. I'll predict a win, but like tmaker said I think it's going to be "interesting."

Any news on the radio broadcast "front" ?
I've checked with Capitol Gold, they visibly
have stopped their broadcast. I also checked
at Blackburn's website and nothing there.

In the meantime, I'm following Eurosport's PBP...

    Re: game

Are you watching the match or just following it online? Just asking because soccernet's gamecast said the goal was against the run of play as well but it isn't always that accurate in it's assessments.

Looks like U.S forces have captured Saddam Hussein. In other news, Pires hits the post with Freidel stranded.

DB is playing so hard recently, you would think he's playing for a new contract after this year.

Judging from what gamecast is saying, we're lucky to still be up. This match is looking scarily familiar to the last two where all that could be managed was a draw.
