2:45pm Central, 3:45 Eastern. Everyone else is on their own. Sorry

I don't think anyone else wants to start this thread. So I figured I would. It is what it is. 2-0 aggregate to Barca.

    Yes. Noble.

1-1 to the good--another crash on away goals.

Cold beer at the pub and not taking anything this team does too seriously. Still better than being at work.

I believe the game is at 3:45pm EST. An hour later than typical for a CL game. Gives us plenty of time to get there and catch all 90 minutes of pain.

If I don't watch, the game won't happen.

Ah yes, sorry. In my head I was thinking of central as the second time, being an hour earlier.

5-1 beat down. I hope Arsenal gets embarrassed. Maybe it will light a fire under the team to beat the scrub teams they have been losing or drawing domestically.

I think they are already embarrassed. We'll see a better game than anyone posting yet thinks we will. We have a history of playing much better in the second game in the CL. Not enough to win, but it will be more of the moral victory sort of thing.

I've come to the conclusion that Wenger and Marco Rubio are the same person. They both consider 3rd or 4th place a win.

    Sigh.

I suppose it's too much to hope for that we'll see an Arsenal side full of youth and B-team players so that the club might actually, you know, be resting for the more important Premiership games that remain? Maybe then we'll at least be lucky in allowing early goals to put the tie to bed and allow everyone to escape injury. Plus we'd get the bonus of international commentators piling on about why things can't stay the same.

As if Kroenke will be watching.

Is there a big dropoff between Pique and the CBs on Barca's bench?

    I'd start Welbeck here.

24hrs before a UCL R16 clash w/ Barca. And this thread has 17 posts?! Wow how times have changed (in 10yrs since we met them in Paris). Both with the decline in BigSoccer and also with the rise in general apathy amongst Gooners. Both are quite sad IMHO.

May not even watch. Pull Ozil after 60 minutes.

Hope for a miracle in the league.

I won't get to see this one until Thursday evening, but I think I've seen this movie before:

Arsenal will put in a valiant effort, but come up just short. There will probably be a bs red card or penalty just to rub it in. We will all lament the 0-2 in the first leg.

Anyways, hoping for a magical Arsenal performance, but sort of expecting the inevitable.

2-0, maybe 3-0. I'd hope Messi is merciful, but eh.....

If we score early, we will. We just need to keep Control.

3-1 to Arsenal. Coquelin brace and chambers late 50 yard "f**k it!" rocket shot to top corner to send Arsenal to the quarters.

Yep. It is sad. The most promising prem season in a decade and most of us can't be arsed. I'll second the notion of a lot of gooners. At least when we used to collapse in the mid-late 2000's we played some attractive football. This squad has only played about 1.5 attractive halves of football all season. Ozil is the only reason to watch Arsenal and for that reason I'll watch this game bc I think he will put his goods on display. I honestly think we frustrated them a bit at our house and if the team shows up we can do the same at theirs. I don't think we can out score them by two though.

Seems a tall order. Our personnel isn't the same. No Cech, No Ramsey. But on a plus side, Koz seemingly will be back as CB, which is very good (considering how questionable Gabriel has been lately) as long as we aren't risking him to reinjure himself that is.

One other bright spot I see lately is Welbeck... if he gets some minutes I hope he can do what most of our players can't... bury the ball in the net. Also I have some confidence that Giroud can do likewise.

But overall, given the immense quality of Barca, especially their forwards, it's hard not to have anything but very low expectations.
