OK. Let's get this party started. I'm going to the pub for this one, so I'm out for PBP, barring some satellite disaster.

Lineups? Words of encouragement? I can safely say our faint title hopes rest on taking three points out of the library.

    Putting on my GH hat:

    Kirkland

    Carragher--Henchoz--Hyppia--Riise (MARCUS HURRY BACK!)

    Murphy--Diao--Gerrard--Smicer

    Owen--Diouf

Looks like a solid line-up to me...see you have the wing play taken care of with Diouf and Smicer.

I think the line-up that I'd like to see is:

    ...........................Kirkland

    ......Carragher...Hyypia...Henchoz...Riise

    ......Murphy...Diao........Gerrard.....Smicer

    .......................Owen....Heskey/Baros

I don't know the status of Heskey, so if he is unavailable, then I go for Baros. I want to see Diouf at some stage as well.

I will be available for pbp if anyone is interested.

It will be at 10 am central time for me.

    Soccernet preview:
It may not be the end if we lose, but it will a lot easier if we win and get 3 points closer.

I would have Baros and Owen up front and give Smicer another go out wide with Gerrard and Murphy in the middle with Riise on the left.

I believe Heskey is out for this one. Ljunberg should be, as well.

This is a must-win match for us and there's no way better to say it. If we lose there's no hope for this season what-so-ever.

  6. It's a big one, all right.

    Not do-or-die, but pretty
close to it: Titanic struggle, six-point swing.
I think that we'll be up for it--I'm guessing 1-1.

    ..........Kirkland

    Carragher--Hyppia--Henchoz--Riise

    Murphy--Diao--Gerrard--Smicer

    .......Owen--Baros

Smicer is doubtful with the flu, so perhaps move Riise to midfield and put Traore at LB.

Match preview at www.LFC365.com Warning it isn't exactly brimming with confidence on my part :(

I'm absolutely sick of Traore at LB...I like Riise there so much more...he actually plays the ball to players in red...and not to patches of grass where no one is.

Except that Heskey is out injured so Riise should be left midfield not left back.

  10. Agree. No Smicer and no Heskey (and no Hamann) leaves us with Traore at LB and Riise on left-sided midfield. Only alternative would be Diouf on the let, and I don't think it's a gamble worth taking, given the stakes involved.

Riise has to play left mid with Heskey out, no way around it. I would love to see Carragher at left back and Babbel at right, much like in the Treble season. What's the deal with Babbel anyway?? Injured?? No Houllier confidence?? Have I been sleeping and missed some bit of news on him??

He's still not fully match fit after his long illness. Houllier subbed him in the first half of the Worthington Cup match against Villa.

    Will there be Audio anywhere?

I'm off to find the Arsenal sight, just in case.

***shudders at the thought of typing "ARSENAL" into a search engine, and prays the computer will not explode instantly.

Since all my thoughts on LFC have been quite the opposite of what really happens of late, I predict Traore will lay a real stinker today.

    Poof!!

Now he'll play out of his mind. You can thank me later.

Right, I remember that...just didn't recall any stories saying that he's out b/c of fitness or due to Houllier just sort of "dropping" him.

Looks like we'll see Riise at left back and Cheyrou at left midfield.

Kanu and Henry up front for the Arse. Who's playing the right midfield spot for them? (and will do battle with Cheryou?)

They have Pires and Wiltord out wide, they tend to switch sides
