^^^ gold. Leicester was a bad game for him with their whole team behind the ball giving no space. Probably should not have started that game.
Except he isn't a striker, he plays rw for us and leaves our right side exposed and rarely creates shit.
When Arsenal's right side has been exposed during the last three or four games, it has generally been when the ball is switched from the left to the right. This is not happening because Bellerin has been caught up field, instead it is because has been playing very narrow, in support of the central defenders when the ball is on the left side or middle of the field. Since he has continued to play relatively narrow in those situations over a series of games, I have to assume those are his instructions, either from Bould or Wenger. So clearly in these situations Arsenal need someone to pick up the runners. But in the Leicester game, I'm not sure whose job it was. Ozil was primarily on the left and Walcott appeared to be playing through the middle at least as often as Sanchez was, so it becomes a communication issue, when they have switched. This communication was complicated by the fact that Sanchez had picked up a knock early in the game and clearly wasn't back to his best.
Did you watch the Sp*rs match? Cuz Welbeck left the right side exposed constantly yet you praise his defense. And (to paraphrase my earlier point) you don't rack up the number of assists Theo has over the last few years by 'rarely creat(ing) shit.'
Like previous poster said...Theo has two and half games under his belt coming back from serious injury people need to chill
This year in particular but I agree the quality of play and overall talent has decline especially since the 2007-2008 season.
nonsense posting. Theo is so much better than Welbeck, its not even worth considering. Both are around the same age and Theo absolutely pisses on Welbeck.
This is the goal that made me a big Theo fan. Most strikers would have stayed down waiting for the pk to be called.
I thought there was an exception that if you get called to start your match thread and you didn't respond, it was fair game.
yet sadly neither are good enough we have just been so abject in procuring top shelf talent that decentness is hailed up
I think Theo is good enough. He is an end product guy. Arsene had him doing other stuff in the past and that put a bad taste in our mouths. The last few years he has realized that Theo needs to be closer to goal and Theo has been really good. Also his speed frightens a defense. He just needs to stay healthy, which is a concern. Welbeck is a wasteman.
Which makes Arsene saying "he"was looking to bring Welbeck in on a loan with an option to buy look all the more astute.
