Super proud and amazed at this team. We made it to the last weekend. We know the levels and I feel the club knows how to reach them.
True. But when I get annoyed at him, I look at his age and realise he is still only 22 and can be moulded. I'll consider this just a forgettable season for him and hope we can move on to more improvements next season. But we're def short on the goal scoring wingers section. We would have been kaput relying on Saka alone and Trossard has helped a lot.
Gutsy win despite not playing great---weren't awful, just not at our best. A few opinions: Partey is slow. And while I'm open to someone showing me numbers that say otherwise, I don't feel like his progressive passing these last couple of matches has made up for his lack of security. Am I the only one who thought Docoure was lucky to only see yellow for the challenge that resulted in Gabriel needing to be subbed? Looked like he used a closed fist at one point and whether there was a ton of force behind it shouldn't matter. Timber looked good given how much time he's missed.
Proud of the team. Feel for the Liverpool fans now knowing how helpless it feels to be facing off against city at the business end of the season.
We went 16-1-1 in 2024. Nothing was blown. There was no bottle job. No choke job. Nothing. City won the league.
Rookie manager, 4th year, 2 2nd place finishes. Expecting more would be illogical, but that's what fans do we ain't built for logic. Gotta hope that the progress continues, and that the minerals are landed. I'm too tired to think of anything else. Copa America, and Euros are my focus. Big up the team, bigup Mikel. We go again next year. Special mention for Gabriel and Saliba. Two warriors who can go anywhere, anytime and get "something". It didn't work out the way we all wanted, such is life.To go from the wilderness to having arguably the top CB combo in the league is a wild one. Lastly, I wish we woulda hijacked that Estavao deal but it is what it is. Bigup everyone
It's my fault guys. If my son and I had sung louder at the Etihad, Trossard would've finished that break at the end to nick it.
Even then, I don’t think that it was blown. It’s City. Liverpool finished second with 97 points two years ago. The issue is the Premier League needs to adjudicate them for those charges.
This hits for me. Arteta is awesome but he’s learning too. Go back to Aston Villa and it was at the time when the team were cooking. He decided to reintroduce Jesus and Zinchenko, recent to that game, to no great effect. Both would quietly return to subs duty a few games later. The Villa game was one where he was slow to recognize that Jesus was struggling, we missed Kai at forward, and Villa kept attacking the space Zinni abandoned. Recently it’s been the same with Partey, whatever dimension he brings might be interesting but not always effective. I felt Arsenal looked stronger once he was off today. It’s not the playing of Partey it’s the speed of recognition that maybe a change is needed that had me today. Maybe it’s squad management or timely recognition that things aren’t going to plan, in any case Arteta has to move along the learning curve like everyone else. Arteta is looking down the road and I only see the rear view mirror, but it’s clear that there were decisions this season that you’d want to say, “don’t do that again,” Partey at right back was an early example.
i didn't say we choked. it it was in our hands and it turned out that was the fatal slip up. city are just too good.
i felt they were bound to drop at least one game but they didn’t. in fact they went 23 games unbeaten in the league.
We fixed our starting 11 and clearly showed they can hang with any team in the world. But our bench let us down this year, we overplayed key guys and we're probably lucky some of them didn't get injured. City have a huuuge bench with quality players, but we have Eddie, Nelson, Zinny, and El Neny and so on.
The Fulham and WHU losses cost us. Villa are a top 4 team this year, no shame losing to them. Batter WHU like nearly everyone else has, and beat a Fulham team down to 10 men and we go into this weekend already champions.
