If we buy a starting center back, then I really don't see Lauren being able to hold on to his starting rightback spot. Kolo's the revelation of the season, and he's exceptional at both defending and going foward. Lauren's only adequate going foward and he's becoming a real defensive liability. Perhaps a change of scenery (back to Spain?) would do him good.
Why unload Lauren at all? We've won the league with him, and even if Arsenal sign a center back and move Kolo outside, Lauren provides excellent cover both in the back and out on the wing. No reason to get rid of him just because he's not going to be a regular first choice anymore.
You're right Coach. Even if Kolo starts at right back, Lauren would provide decent cover. I just don't see him retaining his starting role, especially if we sign a center back. You can't keep Kolo off the field.
