Speaking of that, AW always says going to the US in the summer would be too long of a trip, but every summer he packs the team up and heads to Austria. Heck, that is clear on the other side of the world!

    :D

Just a quick update as we have now arrived in Saltzburg. After training in Bad Waltersdorf, we took off to Opatiji in Croatia, and had a great time. Weather around 100 degrees! Stopped off today at Blad, in Slovenia, and another beautiful place. Arrived to find out the news about FL8 signing for WHU, who are also out in Austria. I spoke with FL8 on Thursday and he did tell me he wasn´t going to Fiorentina. I didn´t think to ask him about WHU !!
Another good servant, going, who also was apparently quoted as saying he wouldn´t play for another EPL team !
Anyway, "HI" from me, Antifan, Red Agave, Canada Gooner and Alison. :)

I know, just being funny. I once saw a comedian who had a quip about how he hates when people say, "It's not the heat, it's the humidity." Whatever. That's like saying, "It's not the bullet that hurts, it's the hole.":D

Well, we lost 1 - 0 as I am sure you all know. Probably the right result on the night. They upped their game in the second half and are 3 games in to their League season. Still by the time the EPL comes around after the Emirates and Amsterdam tournaments, I am sure we will be all right. :)
We all fly home on Thursday night and we have had a grrreeeatttt time ! :D

A quick precis of the tour, now that we are all back.
The first two days were spent in Bad Waltersdorf, the team's H.Q. and the place of our first game. The weather was between 90 - 100 both days, and a nice place to stay. Residing with Thomas and his family made it even better. A bunch bunch of people. Training sessions attended which weas good to watch, and autographs and photos obtained, and evenings in the "Blue Bar", along with the rest of the travelling Gooners, most of them from foreign parts. A comfortable first win over the Turks.
After that it was off to Opatija, Croatia for 4 days, where the weather was even hotter! A very nice resort and coastline and about a 4 hour drive from B.W.
After that it was back to Austria with a stop off in Bled, Slovenia, where time was spent eating, and a boat trip out to an island and a wonderful swim for me and "Antifan" in the clear cool water.
Then a few days in Salzburg where for one morning and evening, we encountered rain for the first time. A nice city with plenty to see and do there. Not a good result for the team there though.
Then on the final day we crossed the border into Germany and a trip up to the "Eagle's Nest". (Hitler's 50th birthday present retreat). Discounting the history, there are probably not too many places in Europe that could challenge the views there. A stop at a nearby lake for a beer, and then to the airport and a delay back to the UK.
All in all, a great trip. :)
