Last season Setanta had the rights to all Sunday games before 10 am (ET) and FSC had the trights to those after. Now it appears that Setanta only gets the one 8:30 am game, with any other going to fox broadband. In return, FSC carried the Monday game last year...this year Setanta has it. (Last season, Arsenal-Fulham would have been on Setanta Xtra, and the Blackburn-Arsenal game in week 2 would have been shown after the 11 am FSC game.)

Normally, the broadband selections should not involve the big clubs (if Fox does what they say, which is to show the 4th selection 10 am game and the game not picked up. However, when a game is moved due to teams playing in Europe during the week, that might expose them to being moved to Fox broadband. (unfortunately, its the big clubs who have the most games moved due to UEFA Cup and Champions League. While Arsenal is the 1st victim, due to what I hear is railway problems on the Saturday, it is Blackburn playing a UEFA Cup qualifier on Thursday night in Finland that caused that game to be moved ...originally, it was to be Setanta's first pick Saturday 10 am game.

Yet another reason to hate Blackburn.

Last year I felt somewhat guilty about using Streams, but this nonsense about the broadband is bull shit. We already pay extra to get the channels, now they want to charge us more. Hey ******** heads, I will pay $20 extra per month if I knew Arsenal were going to be on TV every weekend. Why would I pay for a broadband when China offers it for free? Dumb, dumb move by FSC. A smarter move would be to either tap delay the game or offer it for free to current subscribers. I'll even take a pop up ad or two if I know the stream will be better quality.

OK, my local Fado published the games airing this weekend and here's what they have:

    English Premier League
    Sunday, August 12, 2007

    Arsenal v Fulham @ 6:55am

    Chelsea v Birmingham City @ 8:25am

    Man Utd. v Reading @ 11:00am

Anyone else speak with their pub and been told the game was to be on?

Man, I hope this is true as I want to open the season properly!

Nevada Smith's still listing it at 8 am. Anyone check with them to see if they know something we don't. Think someone said they were taking it from soccer.com or something. The one still saying it was going to be on Setanta Xtra. This blows!

Deaner Nevada's has it listed too and I called them and asked they said yes. I'm pretty sure they haven't got word of this fox broadband thing-hopefully it sorts itself out in the next day or 2.

Well, if they have it on the website, the guys must have it from their provider that this is when it is airing so it should be accurate. Let's wait until tomorrow and I'll lob in a call to the guys and see what they say. Problem is, if I don't get Scott or one of the guys who cares about football, I'll just get a regurgitation of what the website already says from one of the waitresses.

I'd say it looks like we are good for the ass-crack of dawn on Sunday as the guys wait until Wed to post to avoid needing to make too many changes.

STRONGBOW FOR BREAKFAST MEANS THE SEASON IS UPON US!!!

A five hour delay means that the nooner match in London should be a seven am start here, right?

Keep your optimism! We may yet be saved.

I've used tvants and SOPcast with some success. They require a TON of patience right.

Oh, and the Chinese comentary is the bomb

I've always had trouble downloading the software so I can watch the streams for free, but it looks like it's time to give it another shot.

    Semi official word:

Soccer TV definitely shows the game is being broadcast on "Foxsoccer.com - Internet Broadband"

For the Atlanta folks, I just called our Fado's here in Atlanta and this was the first they had heard of this. They are not equipped to air the game via broadband.

I also called Atlanta's other soccer bar, which by the way is owned by an Arsenal fan, the Brewhouse Cafe and nobody home over there yet.

really? They always seemed very straight forward for me. PPMate and Sopcast for the win. SOMETIMES you can get the english announcers. Other times there aren't any announcers. Usually its so early for me that I don't even notice :D

Unfortunately the only way is if your mac is one of the newer ones (intel chip) with the ability to run windows, or if you have virtualpc installed on a G5 or older. None of the streaming programs are written for Mac. If you go to ********.com you can download the games after theyve aired (you need to use bittorrent, pm me if you don't know how), but to watch the streams you need a pc. Looks like I'm going to have to take my work laptop home this weekend to stream the game, since I'm on a Mac too.

Nothing against Oliver...his work is appreciated....but its nowhere near official. A week ago today he had Setanta Extra. The EPL talk podcast that was linked earleir in the thread is the only word we have from Fox...my guess is there is no way they have it ready for Sunday....but I've been wrong plenty (in this thread even).

Not sure what other provider they have. Most use DirecTV I would imagine.

YES they work, very well, quality is a bit shoddy but definitely watchable. Occasional buffering issues (maybe once or twice a game) on some channels but other than that solid.

NO they are definitely not "legit." It's a bit like when people used to descramble cable tv channels. Illegal, but it works.

I'm @ Ohio State so in the Columbus area... does a large contingent of gooners usually show up @ Fado's? During the 05/06 CL run I went out there for a few games, including the Final with some buddies. It was a solid atmosphere, songs, chants, very amusing heckling of Ronaldinho's facial features (a huge chant of "HORSE, HORSE, HORSE" on every touch :p," and I'd definitely come out if there were other Arsenal fans.

myp2p.eu or football4less.com will give you all you need to dl the software.

AND, I'm very annoyed @ FSC & Time Warner...

How is the quality of the streams from myp2p.eu or football4less.com versus ATVO? If its similar it seems like a no-brainer.

Also, how much does it suck that our first three games seem to be destined to Internet or delayed (the Blackburn game). Last year, the only games I can remember that were either not shown live or the same day on delay on FSC/Setanta were the Zagreb matches and the initial Carling Cup ties.

My local here (Los Angeles) says they will be showing the game, delayed at 8am Sunday morning. I don't know if they know something we all don't know or if they haven't heard the latest news. ????

Are the Football Gods having pity on us?! Did someone shag someone at FSC?!

Because as of now, FSC has listed ARSENAL v FULHAM @ 7am!!

Please let this be true.... :D
