I don't know what Arsenal's plans are for the summer, but if the club is available, seems like they would be a great substitute for Real Madrid for the All-Star game.

They've won the Premiership, so there are no early Champions League qualifiers that they have to play. Certainly, there's enough star-power to attract a casual soccer fan to the stadium.

And they're not signed by ChampionsWorld, so MLS will not look bad inviting them. Any thoughts?

Thread moved to the MLS forum.

Not a bad idea, to invite Arsenal-- they'd definitely form some good opposition on the heels of their historic season. For that reason, and aside from the obvious, they'd be a great draw as well.

However, as NYR Metros indicates, MLS might be a day late and a dollar short in inviting the Gunners. Hope not, though...

#1 - Thought I was posting in MLS forum. If not, my apologies.
#2 - I'm sure it's not in Arsenal's traditions to break contracts, but for a nice payday from MLS, they could probably move the games in Austria, a couple of days either way.

Arsenal are playing in the Amsterdam tournament against Ajax and River Plate the weekend of July 30-Aug. 1.

Wenger has been quoted a couple of different times (sorry, I don't have the link right now) as saying that he doesn't think trips to the states are in the team's best interest. Too much travel for the players. That's why he normally plays warm up matches no further than Europe.
