does anyone here notice any similarities between us this season and liverpool last? we're getting pretty far in the league cup, they won it last season, we are off to the best start in premiership history, they did the same thing last season. i know we have a lot more talent than they do, but it's just an interesting parallel. and i definitely hope we don't end up like they did...

well what has helped us it the youngsters have wanted to win and have had a few 1st team players to help supporter them. I would like to see Arsenal win the careless cup because the reserves could claim it as theirs and it helps show how bright the future is.

It will be hard to win it if Chelsea fields strong teams or brings its starters off the bench. We'll have to play a full strength side if we do. WBA will not be push overs. I think we have the quality for them if we mix a couple vets in their like we did last game.

I can see a little of the similarity. We are not as boring as Liverpool was in the first half of last year but there are similarities.

As members of the squad come back, I'm sure there will be more experienced players needing a run-out in the League Cup. With Vieira back either Gilberto or Edu will need to play a game. Parlour should also be back by the next round. Keown might be around to lend some experience to the back line. Maybe Stuart Taylor in goal? And Wiltord and Kanu are already in the side. Aliadiere and Clichy have Premiership starts under their belts this year. That's 6 experienced players (internationals all with the exception of Edu and Taylor) and two younger players with Premiership experience.

After watching most of the Man Utd-West Brom game this week I'd expect a team with those players in it to give them a good game. And if I were Wenger I'd have the big guns on the bench in case it's close and we need 15 minutes of Henry or Bergkamp for example to push us over the winning line.
