Now it's official. Now we can really start worrying about signings that will make or break next season.

I was expecting them to reveal the new shirt when they signed him though. Ehh

I am excited. I am telling you, the guy is the new Smudger. He and RvP are going to give CBs fits.

a striker is not a priority. a central defender and a combative midfielder, and we should be good to go. :D

    Did some say Cesc?

Yeah, so I think Cesc has a lot of choices but really doesn't need....

    Awesome signing.

Can't wait to see this guy out on the pitch.

Not to be negative but just don't understand why we are getting him. Bendtner has a better record than him, and Chmakh won't start with RVP there.

Do we know for sure Arsene is sticking with the 4-3-3 next year?

People are just happy to have a signing, especially this early.

He will probably be a bench and rotation forward to give something different physically. But I don't see why he'd start over any of the three we currently play.

For after the World Cup when RVP is broken by another silly challenge :(

Seriously, just another attacking option. Would rather not have to ever consider having Arshavin as the loan striker again. If anything, this just means Eduardo is done. He is now behind RVP, Bendtner, Chamakh in the pecking order. Plus, a quality player for no transfer fee.

Personally, I'd be pissed if he doesn't turn out to be better than Bendtner.

Chamakh will probably see more game time than any of our other strikers will next season.

You know my stance on Bendtner, and I think I'd take Bendtner over him. Never been overly impressed.

Not to open this whole can of worms but how is Bendtner's record better?

Since 2007 (when Bendtner returned from his loan):

    Appearances:
    Bendy 121
    Chamakh 137

    Goals:
    Bendy 36
    Chamakh 44

    Goals per Game:
    Bendy .29752
    Chamakh .32117

    Appearances in Europe:
    Bendy 25
    Chamakh 24

    Goals in Europe:
    Bendy 9
    Chamakh 12

    Goals per Game in Europe:
    Bendy .36000
    Chamakh .50000

Granted Bendy might be better when he is Chamakh's age but he isn't right now and right now is when it matters.

I'd like to see RvP work in from a wider role on the right and led Chamakh play in the center. In this way they could both start.

This is strange to me... We hardly ever sign players for the bench do we? (players who arent that young)

    Arshavin - start
    Vermaelen - start
    Sagna - start
    Gallas - start

Those are the players we bought that werent exactly teenagers at the time and they all started when bringing them in.

    We have discussed this before:
    -------------Chamakh
    -Arshavin-----------------RVP

That would allow RVP and AA to cut inside on their stronger foot for shooting. Wenger seems to like RVP up top but I think him and Arshavin floating in behind someone leading the line could be outstanding.

Bendtner's stats are slightly less, but earned in a stronger league and include younger years of progression (thus the average of those years isn't necessarily the player he is right now).

Bendtner has gotten more time than any of our stikers over the last few years as well.

I haven't seen a lot of him, but from what I have seen, I have liked.
