I posted here about the Fabregas thing back in December-ish. Hadn’t heard the VVD thing, but everything else echoes various rumors and gossip I’ve heard. Take the above as legit as we’re probably going to get, unless Hughes or Edwards spill the beans.
Maybe it was responsibilities the manager/head coach traditionally take care of (this eg is pure speculation on my behalf - giving players bad news, or a verbal kick up the bum?). During one of our last few games I noticed Virgil gesticulating angrily in Slot's direction. Rarely seen him so angry and frustrated.

Fabergas, FFS??????? So Chelsea gave Alonso full control? I still don't see that as a negative as Hughes and Edwards really f'up the last 2 transfer windows. They thought Alonso would do worse? Laughable, really.
I'm not so sure they did. Last season was like what could go wrong did go wrong. From the tragic death of Jota , the long drawn out Isak transfer saga , to the long term injuries of Bradley,Leoni ,Hugo and Isak , the death of Ibou's father and the inexplicable loss of form of key players Salah, Grav ,Macca ,Gakpo etc. Slot was unable to deal with it. Seemed like one hit after another this season. But personally I believe those signings made last season will prove to be sound .
You don’t know an awful lot do you? Como finished ahead of Milan, Juve and Atalanta under Fabregas this season and for a while 3rd place looked on. First time in the club’s history that they’ve qualified for Europe and it’s the CL.They’ve been playing some excellent football since he took them over 2 years ago in Serie B. 2 seasons from the doldrums of Serie B to the CL. All under Fabregas. Not too shabby. Furthermore, Fabregas apparently has been sounded out for more than a few bigger jobs, like Leverkusen and Benfica. He’s a coach we’re going to see a lot more of in coming years. It’ll be interesting to see how Como do next season in Europe.

Yes - it's a classy letter. Wouldn't have expected anything else. Even in the awful season past - he never got angry or upset or acted like a prick. I wish him well in future endeavors - wouldn't be surprised if he ends up managing a team against us at Anfield at some point.
Yup Arne is a good man and a very solid coach. Liverpool's transition and rebuild is a complex, very difficult job under constant public scrutiny. No knock on him that it was too much for him. He'll land on his feet somewhere.
