I really dont get it? http://www.arsenal.com/the-club/armoury-square/what-is-armoury-square- http://www.arsenal.com/the-club/armoury-square/pricing-details
What's to get? Seems like a nice thing to do for a loved one no longer with us. Probabally inspired by the plaque on the roundabout opposite the armoury( know commonly now as the bears roundabout) dedicated to 'The Bear' Ironic really as they wouldn't let his family and friends hold his wake at the Stadium. Mind you anyone still alive buying one is a bit of a cock! and a vain one at that
One would think that they would want to set some stones aside for other players that may not be as evidently legendary like Charlie George or Thierry Henry, but were still important and popular players, like Perry Groves or Wilf Copping. I just wonder how many businesses are gonna use this for free and permanent advertising.
I would imagine that there is some sort of editing process to keep out business items and rude/offensive text.
who was eugene? its cool in the right context as has been stated...but vain if it's not in memory of someone
What I don't understand is why someone would pay upwards of £50 to engrave their name in stone when one could buy a Dremel and some gold paint for a substantially smaller fee, camp out on Armoury Square for a hour or so and have done. Just give me a stencil for the retro badge and I'm set. If I want a red stone, I can buy a piece of a countertop from Homebase.
I'm going to be a cock. I'm going to be vain. Hell, I even realise that putting my own name there is comparitable to a dog taking a p!ss against a tree. BUT, as a studying architect, I've been locked away in a building for the last year, not having seen the sun or the outside, and I need to put my name SOMEWHERE just to prove that I do still exist! Times like these disprove the concept of "I think, therefore I am."
