Hands down - Chris Armas, I've been saying it all along that as soon as Chris is back up and ready he will get the nod. He has looked good in the first 3 games back for the Fire.
Hands down Chris Armas is a joke for an answer. Armas' lack of height isn't an issue against Mexico and he is probably a better "destroyer" midfielder. As a result, I would expect we might see Armas assuming he is truly ready for a national team appearance. If he is not ready, he won't play.
Mastro was a great destroyer against Mexico last time they played each other. I also think height could be an issue, since Bruce is wary of Mexico's crosses and restarts. But Armas is looking great in the league. Mastro's played one less game, and while he's played well, the Rapids have been uninspired. Ricardo Clark/ABMOD/Mulrooney voters, just click "Jefferson Davis in a Dress." (oh and Pottersville is not far from Springfield.)
Your a joke. No sheet if BA doesn't think he's ready he wont play. Its called a prediction, being from the south and all you might want to look that up.
Both of them, also I heard a rumor that Mike Tyson was being called up for this match to add some "punch" at the striker position.
Only because he got hurt during WC qualifying. Armas is the man for the job assuming he's up to speed after his rehab. I'm guessing he can't be too far out of shape otherwise Bruce wouldn't have called him up.
Both. They'll split halves. Yeah I know it's like kissing your sister, but I think in this analogy that Bruce thinks his sister is hot.
I love Armas & wish me a COMPLETE recovery from his ACL surgery (wish must be progressing VERY well, if he was named to the team), but the OBVIOUS choice has to be Mastroeni!! Perhaps a more "sustained" question is which of the two (provided both are in form & healthy) will start at DM in WC 2006!!
3-5-2 better suits all our 'tweeners anyway. And by 'tweeners I don't mean a former President of the CSA now buried in Richmond wearing a dress, so let's cut that stuff out right now.
That's what I think. While Pablo was originally called in as a replacement, I think he made the job his in J/K and I don't think he's done enough to lose it or that Armas has done enough to win it back. That being said, it is a friendly, and anything Arena may or may not do in this game has no bearing in the long haul. Wow, my post was actually well thought out for a Southerner.
Here's to hoping Ricardo Clark ends this discussion come WCQ. JOB, CLARK, REYNA in the middle of a 3-5-2. NICE.
Mastro, hands down. Armas is a slightly better destroyer, but Mastro is a far better ball handler. Our team has progressed past the point of using strictly defensive hard working types who add little to nothing on offense.
It's hard for me to see how Armas is a better "destroyer" than Mastroeni considering that it's hard to destroy what you can't catch. Anyone who thinks Armas is the answer needs to go back and rewatch the tape of the US-Honduras qualifier at RFK. Armas was beaten for speed all over the field. Too me it looked like he couldn't even get close enough to foul properly - and that was when he was healthy.
Mastro starts and Armas will come in the 2nd half. Gotta factor in that great shot of Blanco standing over Mastro during the WC, completely frustrated. That image is worth a start
