This is a must win now that San Lorenzo lost. A win would put Boca within only one point of San Lorenzo. Russo already said he's using the same starting lineup as last week.

    -------------Caranta
    Ibarra-Silvestre-Morel-Clemente
    --------------Banega
    -Ledesma--------------Neri
    --------------Roman
    -----Palacio----------Palermo

Depending on how the game moves on I think Banega should be rested since he's been playing non stop and seemed a bit tired last week against Velez.

Lol! we opened the thread at the same time. Maybe the mods can merge it.

We got to take this, to get within a point of San Lorenzo.

Lets hope that Ibarra is in shape for tomorrow/tonite. When he is tired, he turns imprecise with the ball. Also, I'd be concered of Ledesma. He has been great for us this semester, but against Racing you could tell he was tired as he didn't look that fast. He recovered for the game against Velez ... who knows how we will feel for this game.

San Lorenzo, as Estudiantes, have been gaining points that were many times undeserved. They dropped all three tonite, so it is a must win for Boca, with the added incentive of getting within 1 point.

If Cata returns for Wednesday's game, expect a back four of Clemente - Silvestre - Cata - Morel ... in order to give Ibarra some rest for the 14th round and the 4ters of the Cup.

I wonder, does this mean that Russo has lost all confidence in the subs? Boca's starters have been performing admirably, but can we hang in either tournament without some reasonable help from the other players?

i think that some subs will actually be put in against Velez. it makes more sense to rest some against Velez (when we are already up 3-0 and just 1 goal means thta Velez has to score 5) than against argentinos in which a win will get us within 1 point

The gayinas failed to beat Independiente. Final score 1-1.

It's time for Boca to make a move. Argentinos has been playing well this season, but we should take them down.

********kk Argentinos just tied it! 3-3! Don't tell me we're going to continue dropping points when it matters most.

I'm not posting here to run smack or to clown on guys. I just want your opinion on Argentinos Jrs. I find them to be one of the more exciting clubs in the Primera. They have some really good young players who'll probably move on to play for either Boca or River in the future.

    Here are the goals:

    Neri: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1wwnl_argentinos-33-boca-21-cardozo-b

    Palermo: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1wx2w_argentinos-33-boca-22-palermo-b

    Ibarra: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1wx6x_argentinos-33-boca-23-ibarra-b

Que golazos de Neri e Ibarra .

Almost all of Neri's 6 goals this season have been golazos. Same goes for Ibarra. He barely scores but everytime he does it's a fooking golazo!

Of course who could forget this one:

A tricky game at the Diego Armando Maradona. With a smaller field, it is easier to close on spaces. With a tall defense, the crossing to look for Palermo is minimized.

So what the team needed was to play fast, precise, one touch football. And that is precisely what this Boca 1st squad would find very difficult. The tiredness reduces speed ... and turns you imprecise.

Therefore, Boca got a great result after being down 2-0 in the first half. Unfortunately, Roman didn't have his day at all yesterday. And risked being injured in that ackward landing.

Now that the # of games will start saturating the players, Russo need to find a starting 11 for the local tournament that keeps fighting for the title. For me, Marino and Mondaini have to start playing instead of Roman and Palacio. And have either Boselli or Marioni replace Martin. The Libertadores is of utmost importance for the club and fans.

A Clausura title that is up for grabs ... even River still has a chance if they beat both San Lorenzo and Estudiantes. But I see el Pincha way too strong. They have only lost to Boca.

ya Russo needs to start rotating.

Mondaini, Boselli and Mairno should be the trident in the Clausura and perhaps some more playing time for Datolo, Orteman and Battaglia (if he gets better).

Cahais could be an option to be put in to rest some defenders as well.

how long will Maidana be out for?

Riquelme did not have his usual game, but for the most part the midfielders and forwards played well. Ledesma was awesome, Banegas was ok, and Cardozo was better than he's been the last few games.

I think our problems were on defense. But it is hard to figure out players. It seemed to me that Silvestre, who is the one who played the least matches, is the one who looked the most tired. Clemente looked a bit tired too.

I'd give Cahais some time, and of course, it also depends on when Maidana, Cata and Krupoviesa can come back to play. I think Krupo can be added to the Libertadores roster but not for the local tournament.

cardozo is insane he is probalby you're best player looking at the future. neri is good but has to grow some.

its like carusso said you guys were saved by two golazos, but the main problem you have is that both ibarra and clemente go up but banega doesnt come down fast enough to cover a slot, and the fact that you're two central defenders usually pull a fu[k up, its no wonder argentinos pulled three. boca is an offensive powerhouse but it has yet to find its balance in defense.

i think that in reality you guys cpuld fight for both tournaments as you have already played all the grandes.

that is a prob because or RB and LB are both better at attacking than defending. Sadly though, injuries have made it so that they both have to be on the field (with Cata and Maidana injured) and thus leaving us vulnerable in the back. Especially since Silvestre isn't the fastest player

I don't know what to say about Clemente Rodriguez, like Battaglia, his European venture cost him as a player. Ibarra on the other hand makes up for his lack of defensive dominance with excellent leadership and for the most part class. Banega a player I like does leave the back exposed. Some of our problem has been from not having Cata Diaz but your defensive mid is supposed to be a destroyer and Banega is still young. I personally would like to see Orteman get more time. His a tough guy and plays gritty in the middle of the field.

I'd actually change the formation a bit and go with three in the back with two defensive mids with Ledesma playing as an attacking wing back. With this formation, we'd have an extra body to clog up the middle where we've been exposed.

problem is that orteman doesnt defend that well or he has the same problem with banerga, thing is that what need to happen is that ibarra needs to play and morel rodriguez play wing and stay back, him and cata diaz with cahais or silvestre play center, that way you denfend with 3 and then banega has a more relaxed ability to come back, but usually boca doesnt have him really tight mark someone and they shoudl. e.x. moralez, nunez.
