    End of the season.

Lucho is the best passer of the Ligue 1 with 11 assists.
    Lisandro is 3rd best scorer.
Cavenaghi had an awful season, unfortunately.
Cesar Delgado revealed himself as the perfect underdog player.
Tino Costa is the big revelation and could move to a big club next year.

    Personal stats incoming.

    Any opinion on Heinze?

    Re: Argentinos in Francia

Heinze had a good season. His leadership qualities were precious to help Marseille win the title. Average/decent as LB, good/very good as CB. He's rated 2nd or 3rd best player of the season by the fans. That's as much a great performance as he was a... PSG legend.

No wonder you've never heard of Costa, he began at La Terrazza before moving to the Guadalupe (!) and then the inferior French leagues :D

    Considering only league matchs:

Diego Placente (Left defender - Bordeaux) 3 matchs
Gabriel Heinze (Left or central defender - Marseille) 27m, 4 goals
Mauro Cetto (Central back - Toulouse) 16m
Renato Civelli (Central back - Nice) 17m, 1g
Franco Sebastian Sosa (Right back - Lorient) 29m, 3g, 1 assist
    Pablo Barzola (Right defender - Caen, L2) 26m, 1g
    Franco Sanchirico (Defender - Evian-Thonon-Gaillard, L3) 11m

    Juan Eduardo Eluchans (Offensive midfielder - Caen, L2) 34m, 5g, 2a
    Lucho Gonzalez (Midfielder - Marseille) 35m, 5g, 12a
    Alberto Costa (Midfielder - Montpellier) 31m, 7g, 7a
Gabriel Peñalba (Midfielder - Lorient) 8m
Diego Sebastian Gomez (Offensive midfielder - Tours, L2) 7m
    Alejandro Alonso (Right midfielder - Monaco) 27m, 2g, 7a
    Cesar Delgado (Winger - Lyon) 27m, 4g, 3a
    Augusto Fernandez (Right winger - Saint-Etienne) 12m, 1g, 1a
    Luis Gonzalo Bustamante (Midfielder - Evian-Thonon-Gaillard, L3) 14m, 1g

Sebastian Dubarbier (Supporting forward - Lorient) 12m, 1g
    Fernando Cavenaghi (Striker - Bordeaux) 20m, 3g, 3a
    Lisandro Lopez (Forward - Lyon) 33m, 15g, 6a
    Gonzalo Bergessio (Striker - Saint-Etienne) 31m, 5g, 4a

Sanchirico and Bustamante are D3 champions and will play in the Ligue 2 on next season.

I find it kind of funny how hated heinze is by the majority of argentine fans. he's kind of a cult hero at the clubs he plays at. not so much real madrid, but at PSG, Man U, and Marseille they loved him.

They didn' like him that much at ManUtd his last seasons or so.

Heinze was one of my favorite players for a long time. I used to defend him constantly on here but after watching some of his performances in the CL towards the end of his stint at ManUtd, especially getting murdered by Kaka, and then watching his last season at Madrid which was beyond bad I couldn't defend him anymore.

Every fan of PSG remembers the left side Heinze-Sorin though it lasted... one year.

They loved him for his first couple of seasons at Man Utd, I think on one ocassion he won the Man Utd supporters player of the season. But then his form started to slip, Evra replaced him and red nose decided to get rid. I suppose we should take some comfort that at least this season he has played more like his old self.

Evra replaced him but I recall him playing CB for a while with Evra on the left because of injuries and he was a disaster. Remember that goal that Kaka scored that Heinze crashed into another ManUtd player?

Then towards the end he asked for a transfer to Liverpool and that's when he became dead to them.

Oh yeah, he is a dirty so and so as a player, I don't think I have ever seen him play where he has NOT elbowed one of the opposition.

Valencia would want Tino Costa. Montpellier demands 8M€.

Thanks Catel. He is a skilled player I wonder if he can repeat his consistency he had taking Montpellier close to the CL spot's.

He's really come under the radar.

Any chance Cavenaghi could leave Bordeaux ? I really think had he played this season he could have secured a big move to La Liga or serie A. He is class.

He wants to stay at Bordeaux and extend his contract (which ends in 2011). Managers are still unsure about him. Udinese keeps an eye open. He could be useful again as Yohan Gourcuff should leave.

Udinese could be a nice spot for him to get a spot to impinge upon the seleccion for us. He seems to have been forgotten by everyone in the NT selection at Bordeaux due to his lack of playing time this season.

And by the way thank you very much Catel for all of your information regarding Argentine players in Ligue Une. It's greatly appreciated mon ami. :)

You're welcome ;) But with Tevez, Aguero, Milito, Higuain and Lisandro, I'm not sure there would even still be a spot in the Seleccion for Cavenaghi. I just hope he scores again because every fan of Bordeaux loves San Fernando.

Today the Marseille of Lucho Gonzalez and Heinze play for the Trophée des Champions against PSG, in Tunis. In Argentina the match will be televised by ESPN, which i have no idea which ESPN it is in North America, if it exists(By the way, it's plain "ESPN" not the argentine based "ESPN+"). The match will begin at 3:30pm time of Argentina.

Lucas Mareque (Independiente) still followed by Lorient but would prefer Spain or England.

Franco Sanchirico and Luis Bustamante will not play in the French Ligue 2. They both left Evian-Thonon-Gaillard for an unknown horizon.

Mauro Formica should sign for AS Monaco in the next hours. Let's hope he does better than most of the Argentinians still playing in France-- it's hard to admit that it's a bad season for them.
