We are nearing the end of the first round of Copa Libertadores. Maybe it's just me but I get the distinct impression that the Argentine teams despite being favorites are actually not doing so well.

Velez and Independiente are not even assured a place in the second round right now--they're going to the four team "playoff" (la repesca) for the last two spots.

Boca and River won their groups but they have not been "playing like themselves". Boca seemed a little lackluster to me in their last game and in fact seemed to me to be playing below their best level for most of the first round. Riverplate is also a team that despite winning games, is not leaving a good impression on the pitch--they are a team that is playing below their ability.

Rosario Central played "as if they meant it" during the first round and have left me with a good impression--but even so, to their fans they must be a letdown because they were favorites to win their group and didnt.

What do you guys think? Are the Argentine teams really in trouble or will they start to impress in the later rounds of this tournament?

In argentina only boca is a favorite, along with 2 from Brazil and LDUQ (ecuador)

aguilas could provide some good results too...

take a look at to conmebol discussion for this very same topic:

    Buen Juego !

The Mexican league is battling the brazilian when it comes to the title as the best in the continent.

the argentinian league is now third best in the Americas no doubt about it.

River and Velez couldn't beat Tachira and Maracaibo of Venezuela in the first round.

You're crazy! Because America and Santos did good against 6 southamerican teams, that doesn't mean that the Mexican league is better than the Argentinian.

    uuhmmm, let's see :

    Copa Libertadores:
    2003 - Boca Juniors (ARG)
    2002 - Olimpia (PAR)
    2001 - Boca Juniors
    2000 - Boca Juniors

NO MEXICAN TEAM HAS WON THE EVENT SINCE THEIR INVITATION. IN FACT ONLY CRUZ AZUL (MEX) HAS MADE IT TO THE FINALS.

Argentina En La Libertadores A Tenido Un Solo Representante En Los 90's Y Es Boca. Ya El Resto Son Muy Iguales Y No Sobresalen.

River No Convence - Le Toco Un Grupo Muy Suave.
Rosario Juega Bien Pero Jugar Los Dos Torneos Le Toca Muy Duro A Lo Largo
Independiente -- Esta Complicada La Cosa

    Independiente---eliminado

Copa Libertadores final on T.V. in Orange County?

Does anyone know a place like a restaurant, bar, pub, anything that will be televising the Copa Libertadores final? I dont get foxsports world in espanol so I wont be able to watch it. But my cousin who lives in Manizales, Colombia will be moving home and wants to watch his team. Given if they make it to the finals. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    thankyou
