Nice goal by Buonanotte. 2 assists for Pala today who’s back to starting.

Color me surprised! Right before a World Cup qualifier, he has an “injury”. I’m not going to lie, it seems like some of this shit is done intentionally. He wants to go to tournaments but is always unavailable for qualifiers.

Jeeze, Dybala not available for qualifiers with Messi. I mean, yeah, predictable.

Too bad that its too late to call up Palacio. He is back from his injury and looked great today.

Oh man, I thought he had turned a corner with him scoring with the number 10 shirt and showing such emotion in the last game.

I hope he’s calling Scaloni and letting him know how much he wanted to come but just can’t make it because of injury.

Otherwise, it’s not a good look.

    Either of these...or both

We couldnt rely on a guy who doesnt commited 100% to the NT.

We couldnt rely on a guy who's getting injured every few weeks.

I have said it many times but whenever we have qualifiers he is nowhere to be found because right before the matches he picks up some injury. I can understand if it happens a couple times but time in and time again? Very dubious. He’s only played 12 games in the qualifiers for us. Sure, Messi takes up his spot but he’s always MIA, not even on the bench.

Oh, well. A spot had opened up with ADM’s retirement, I guess he does not want it. Plenty of young and hungry kids who’ll be chomping T the bit to get called up.

Soule yes. Barco needs to learn his game. Soler or Maffeo should be there. Paz had another great game this week. Pibe continues to show his quality along with Perrone. That despite the loss to Napoli they are a clear cut above the rest in their vison, control of the ball & passing range. Perrone can put the boot in when needed & Paz doesn't shirk either. They just keep that ball moving but with purpose.

You can see Perrone getting his chance at UAE City & Paz being snapped up by the likes of Internazionale. It get's boring but our midfield will be so stacked if it progresses as it should that a couple of top tier talents will miss out on the Mundial#s of the future. In essence Paz plays like a Xavi style player with the same poise and passing range, Perrone like de Rossi but with more poise on the ball.

Madrid has a buy-back clause on Paz. But also, if Madrid doesn't option the clause, they retain a 50% share of any transfer fee on Paz. I wonder what that does to his transfer; Como might be less motivated to sell him if they only get 50%, no?

oh, snap! I didn't realize. I am surprise b/c he was still on his way back to being fully fit. IMO, that shows how much Scaloni likes him.

What I read on the Madrid board was that the club were disappointed Paz picked Argentina over Spain. They had apparently urged him to play for Spain but he wanted Argentina. In fact, his father, and both wanted Argentina. I wonder if they shunned him because of this move. Fatso's father in the past said Perez did not like Argentines, so who knows.

I think on a talent level, the kid is very dynamic. You see how sleek he is with the ball and can get away from his defenders without much of a problem. I also believe he has a very tough mentality as mentioned above, he does not back away from a challenge. At times, it looks like he plays like a winger. Kroos also mentioned him about year ago or so and said Paz really stood out from the players of the Madrid academy.

Scaloni does really need to revamp up the midfield and Paz should be looked at with a close eye. Varela also should be looked at but Scaloni does not seem to budge on the the RDP, Mac and Enzo trio. Or then he subs in Gio, Paredes and Pala(In some combination). I think the only current midfielder we have that should be a bonafide starter is MaC. Everybody else should be fighting for a spot.

We are not that far away from the World Cup. And I would like for us to aim for that fourth star and I think we need players who are hungry.

De Paul with his typical shit pass close to the team's own box and the opponent scores. Crazy how he has always dodged being punished for them with the NT despite he does it at least once every game.

He's gonna ride the bench for while now, like his buddy Paredes.

Julian was great but again his team barely attacks and he gets subbed off earlier than he should to defend a single goal lead...

At last Lionel. Soler has all the basic qualities you need in your left back. He's good defensively & attacking wise delivering great crosses. Barco on other other hand still gets caught out as he is relies on his pace to catch up as opposed to reading transitions and checking where the opposing fullback & winger have gone.

Soler on the other hand reminds me of Tagliafico defensively. Reliable, gets stuck in does what is needed in marshalling the opposing winger ie forcing them back, onto their weaker foot & cutting out the ball into the box. Sure he gets caught out but not very often and at 19 yes he also can get leaned on and beaten by a physically stronger opponent but not without a fight. As he gets stronger that won't be an issue at all.

Several top sides in Europe are tracking him but I hope he stays with Lanus a for a little while longer. Liverpool are one of those scouting him.

Facu deserves another look. Playing in a role just off the front centrally is where he is suited to playing driving at the defence unlike at Brighton where he was played more of a side midfielder and received less of the ball. He will also catch up physically. Compared to others like Perrone & Paz he's still a bit of a stripling.

Holy shi$. The Youth movement is on!!

Two games, as winnable as we are going to get as back2back, I am hoping we get to see about 3-4 of the young guys at the same time.

    I am now very excited

    Soule, Nico Paz, Buonanotte, Carboni.

We need some right foot attackers as we have too many left foot attackers atm with Messi and Dybala included.

Only players who can basically play on the LW are Garnacho (injured), Nico G. (injured) and Thiago Almada. Maybe a stretch Lo Celso and Barco. Giuliano Simeone is an unpopular option; hopefully he develops well. Alvarez can maybe play as a LW.

With Garnacho injured, hopefully Thiago Fernandez or Zeballos can be called up.

I'd be a bit cautious for this round because not only Emi is missing but Romero will miss the Venezuela match aswell due to suspension .

I know the NT has a training facility setup in Miami, but why are they training there for this round? The first match on Thursday is against Venezuela but it is in Buenos Aires. It might make sense if the game was in Venezuela to travel from Miami, however, this is not the case. The team must fly from Miami down to BA, play the match on Thursday, then travel to Bolivia for Tuesday. Lots of air miles.

The game is in Venezuela. Are you forgetting we already played in La Paz where we won 3-0?

So we are starting the second half of the qualifiers, where our first match will be away then the following is at home.

Well, looks like our game might get postponed because of that little hurricane, Milton.

BTW- Hope our Floridan brethren are doing okay and please be safe!

Preparing to hunker down. I'm inland and not in an evacuation zone so just hiding from the wind. The track just updated a little further from me, hope it keeps trending that way. Still in the cone, though.

Wednesday morning, 9:26am, and its sunny outside in Miami. I am not sure why this hurricane would affect the game.

‘He gives more effort for Argentina…’ – Diego Simeone

Its funny every Argentine players club performance went south whenever they joined his team, except the one who rarely play for the NT (A.Correa). Even Insua once a good prospect who won WC u20 in 2007 had similar fate. Remember Vietto? A 20 year old winger who scored 20 goals when he was at Villalreal... he joined Cholo's team the next season and scored 4 goals in the next two seasons:whistling:

Kun left that club just at the right time.. the same year they appointed Cholo.

To be fair, only thing RDP gives to us is that he runs all game long and puts pressure on players. Ask to pass the ball, he'll give a miss-pass and then he'll go chase the ball down. RDP has not been the same player since he left Udinese, where he was just great. He is another player Scaloni needs to eventually drop.
