Its a tradition for him. He'd not score for 5-8 games and then scored 7-8 goals in the next month. He didnt score for NT in 1.5 years and then suddenly he scored 8 between Jan-July.

Prior to Copa, he had a 2 months goal drought for Inter. Julian seems to have this trait aswell:whistling:.

We can just hope he enters the next WC when he enters his scoring period lol

Speaking of strikers, Castellanos scored again and now has 3 goals in 4 games in Serie A

Romero is getting a right battering for his perfformance against Arsenal.

He needs to get away from Spurs.

He was the highest rated player on sofa score on his team, people were praising him online.
It was the goal where he lost his mark that was his only big mistake.

It's premeiere league fans being english fans. they did the same thing when salah turned lisandro inside out.

Look at Paredes, he did one big mistake, everyone blamed him. De Rossi has sat him out for 4 games, and they have performed poorly for 4 games. Now there is chat that they want Paredes back and De rossi and management are stupid.

It's football, people are ********ing stupid. And I'm gonna call it like it is.

The only thing our players could achieve in teams like Villa & Spurs is being a starter. We all know they're not team that competes for titles.

I'm not too worried about whether they win titles or not so long as it doesn't affect their national team form, and Romero and Dibu have been great for us despite being on teams that don't win anything and having some rough outings for their clubs. It's better to be depended on week in and week out. As long as their managers realize their quality and keep them in, that's all that matters, not what the whiny fans think. Spurs needed to score goals, they didn't do it, that's why they lost, not Romero.

I wouldn't be surprised the players are burned out. There are far too many games going on now. With the Champions League expanded, and now the CWC being this gigantic tournament, it is a hot mess. In the EPL, you have the league, the FA Cup and that other Cup(The name changes every single year). Let's not to mention international tournaments.

Many top level players are playing 3 tournaments out of 4 years in June and July.

A lot of players are upset with it. There are just far too many games in Europe.

If Messi is going to participate in the WC26, he made a smart move going to the MLS as the MLS season starts in Feb so he won't be burned out + he can rest whatever injury that he may potentially have as much time as needed and not rush back to the field at all.

Players not participating in the Club World Cup 2025 will have a better chance at breaking into the WC26 squad based on form.

It's genuinely shocking that football players are being asked to play games of football. Isn't there some way these guys can pick up their £100k / £200k / £300k a week wages without having to play any games, or perhaps 1 or 2 games a season. Perhaps a Live Aid type concert can be organised for them so they can add a 50th Ferrari to their car collection. How my heart bleeds for them.

Garnacho scored twice in Kabob cup, second goal was his trademark counter attack run.

This has nothing to do with playing football for a living. When players get hurt or if their level drops, there is a reason. You’d be a fool to think that athletes don’t get tired. You pickup injuries when your body has had enough. It’s not rocket science.

I remember hearing Batistuta talking about asking his doctors to amputate his feet because he lived with so much pain from his injuries. Yes, they get paid a lot of money to kick a ball but at the end of the day, they’re not machines. They feel pain and their bodies breakdown.

You complain about good football and then want top players to keep playing like circus elephants.
Rodri commented saying the reason haaland is tearing it up is because he had so much rest this summer. No Euro or Olympics. There's too many games, it affects the quality.

Honestly, it's terrible how modern footballers are treated, I mean some of them have to play 2 games of football in a week, and for what, a pittance of £250k a week. If only we had someone like Charles Dickens around to write about their suffering. I mean the top clubs only have squads consisting of 50 players, how are they expected to field a team to play in more than one game every 2 months. And if they weren't playing football, they could be producing great works of art, poetry, knocking out novels, truly disgusting they are expected to play games of football.

More simply put it's Tottenham fans. They are very critical of their own. Compare that to Liverpool or Brighton where they adore Mac & Villa where they love Emi & indeed Buendia.

This is true. At the same time the biggest domestic clubs have the squads to rotate. And if players want a reduction in games they had better ask their clubs owners & directors for a reduction in games indeed FIFA and it's idiotic world club league/cup & the shambles that is the new Champions League as was evidenced by attendances last night.

And with that a reduction in their wages. There are so many players out there who are pretty average earning ridiculous wages. Many earn in a year what the average person would earn in a lifetime or two. There is a huge divide between fans & players which grows each year. The costs of attending football here are ridiculously high yet fans get extorted for more money than ever. It's completely different to the situation in South America where there is still a bond between players & fans & the costs of going to a game & having some food & drink & also having a good time are relatively cheap. There's a huge disconnect here between supporters and the players particularly given the economic situation the UK is in and has been for the last two decades relying on financial services to maintain GDP.

It was a good performance but we have to remember Barnsley are in the third tier of the English pyramid. Good academy though but they keep losing their best young players to the vultures.

I predict that Nico G. will be the starting LW in the WC26 to provide the legs and intensity to compensate for Messi. Once the opposition tires, Garnacho to be subbed in for Nico G. to deliver the final blow.

Good to see that Garnacho is progressing well in terms of number

Now if only we could find someone who could finish like a true #9, we'd be thriving even more. While we won the recent Copa , its pretty frustrating it took so many chances in every games to eventually open the scoring. We blew so many counter including in recent game againts Colombia.

Hopefully Garnacho could be much better goalscorer than Nico, especially in counter situation.
