Otamendi had a great tackle before the goal. He is not the problem imo

We can barely get out of our own half. I get that it’s hot, but push up the team and try to win it back higher up the pitch. We’re never playing through them with this line up.

Ball watching... granted the entire team was but you're the captain, you're suppose to lead by example.

Looking at the replay of the goal, I don’t understand why Emi stands so close to the nearest post. Usually he grabs every cross that lands so near the goal.

Dybala would have planted that one with his left.

Bad finishing, really could have been 1-1.

I don't care what happens, next half they better come out on all cylinders.

Its the humidity. Players looks like they're evaporating.

Paredes should be taking all corners and free kicks without Messi. Even with Messi, I still want Paredes on the corners and long kicks.

Paredes has some serious whip and power.

We need some attacking brilliance/creativity and speed.

Sub in Lo Celso, Dybala and Castellanos for Nico G., Alvarez and Lautaro in the 2nd half.

Garnacho must come on. Don’t really like him, but he can run at least. Also Dybala should be a cert

Considering the humidity and heat, I think we played average and should have came out from this half 0-0 if it wasn't for that unfocused defending for the goal.

Withdraw Nicolas, switch to a back four, bring on Garnacho down the right to cover and attack and provide some width as Colombia are attacking down that side nearly all the time. Withdraw Paredes as well drop Enzo a little deeper and bring on Dybala to sit with Julian behind Lautaro upfront.

Get Montiel to attack more. This is the time when an option like Varela would be very useful. Can't believe Scaloni is still hanging onto dead wood.

Humidity or not, you’d expect the guys to be able to pass a ball 5 metres. At the moment we’re struggling to even do that.

The attack is lacking. The defense appears to be lost. The starting line-up was a swing and a miss.

Best chances were off corners. Not enough. I think they paced themselves too much. Needed to get through the first half without conceding. Now they have to see if they can get a result in the second.

Scaloni is the best in game strategist of international football - I expect that there are going to be some changes made that will make a difference.

I think we look a little gas, but we actually played better than Colombia. I am encouraged.

Godd#mn, their stadium is packed for a middle of the week game at 3:30 pm

Ota has been better than Licha this half. Licha is fine at LB against teams like Chile at home, but in games like this I’m not convinced.

Who could hace foretold Nico doing zero contribution and a midfield with Paredes as anchor doing ball watching?

Let's sub Mac and Dybala already. Can't stand these guys.

Paredes & Ota are sub material. Ota because he already passed his best after 2022 while Paredes seems to be less effective as a starter most of the time. He's not someone who could cover lots of spaces like Mac or Gio.

I wouldn't take too much from this game of the player's performance today based on the conditions. It was always going to be a difficult game for everyone.

For games like this, only the results matter.
