Atletico want to bring in Julian but it will be very difficult. He’d likely fit well into that club.

Not that I take ESPNFC very seriously but they released a top 100 players. Within in the top 30 defenders, which will include CBs and FBs, get this, Cuti did not make the list. What a joke.

In the midfield, they had both Enzo and Mac. Mac I would get but Enzo had a year where his form had dipped.

Dibu was ranked #2 for goalies and of course the Frenchie, Laurens, was crying about it saying he was ranked far too high.:ROFLMAO:

Messi, Dybala and Lautaro made the top 30 in the forwards department.

How many CBs were there? I don't think I can name 10 better than him at the moment.

IMO the only ones in higher or equal level are the Arsenal/City CBs and Bastoni. Anyone else is below...

I had to check myself b/c I didn't believe you. Jes#% F#Kn$ Ch3rs! Cuti Romero is not amongst the top 30 defenders in the world?!?!? On any given Sunday he can be the best CB in the EPL. At international level, he is now the anchor-most-safe-bet as a starter of the #1 national team. At club level, as stated, he is one of the best CBs in the EPL (top 5 for sure). But not a top 30?!?!? Hilarious.

Messi at #7 on forwards was surprising. Higher than I expected. I think he is still among the best, but I would've bet that the experts couldn't wait to knock him down.

No Julian Alvarez. . . many thoughts.

Not sure I'd take many in the world even over current Messi. But given his injuries and lack of status playing in a smaller league, I can see why.

And yea Romero seems low too. Makes no sense.

Lo Celso is back in the squad right? He missed the WC because of injury.

Messi's ranking depends if it's like, one game decides the fate of the world, versus like who do you build around longer term. He's still #1 by the former criteria imo.

Hopefully Chelsea or Arsenal. But more likely something like Villa or Tottenham. Outside England I only see PSG able to afford him and with a need of a striker.

If he really thinks about the next club, he should join Barca. Current Barca have a 36 years old Lewandowski as the main striker.

With what money? He isn't going anywhere for less than 60 million euros. And I don't think City is open to a loan.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Chelsea. Apparently, he wants to play more games, which he needs to.

I prefer he stay at city, but if he has to move it should be Chelsea for the link up with enzo.

There is no benefit for him for a player of his calibre to play in any La Liga teams. Real Madrid don't even bother, more bench time?

I'm hoping Varela makes the move to Liverpool as they are looking for a DM. Would be nice for the two former Boca boys to link up again as a 5 and 8.

Varela debuted after MacAllister left. They never played together.

But yeah, that would definitely be a great move! Loving this Argentine takeover of EPL

Not to mention, if Equi also lands in England. My boy is* making me proud.

However, I did read a rumor that Madrid was interested in Mac. They’re losing Kroos and Modric has at best another year with the Spanish giants. I’d personally hate move for him.

    Great interview with the GOAT

One of the main takeaway is participating in the WC 2026. I agree with Loco that with him playing in the US, the WC mainly happening in the US, I have a feeling that barring injury he is going to participate in the WC although I understand the other perspective of people not wanting him to participate as he had the greatest ending that a player could have had imagined.

Regardless if he wants to participate or not, he really needs to commit to one to another fully after the Copa America.

Mid 30s Messi and mid 20s MacAllister almost looks like the same person.

Loved some of the replies, just shows again the camaraderie in the team:

    • Among the national team players, who will you live with?

    Messi: "Di María."

    • Who would you prefer to be your brother-in-law?

    Messi: "Paredes.."

    • Who would you ask for advice?

    Messi: Scaloni

    • Who would you go out and party with?

    Messi: "De Paul

    • "Between the national team players, who would you leave your children with to take care of them?

    Messi: "Dibu."

Equi is being linked to Porto(Shocker, I know) and Julian is being linked to PSG(Hell no). I hope Julian stays in England. Chelsea are interested as well. PSG is a deathtrap.

I hate Chelsea, would rather see Julian move to Arsenal. They've always been more attacking team.

A PL side is going to have to pay double what a team like PSG or Atletico would pay for Julian. Why would City sell him to Arsenal or Chelsea? Not likely.
