Enzo is getting an absolute drubbing in the English media, ok, he won't give a toss cause he's on an 8 year contract worth £300k a week, but the move to Chelsea looks worse by the day.

So, what is the big deal? Who cares what the media has to say or a bunch of trolls on Twitter? If his contribution drops with the seleccion, then we can have a different discussion. But even if that is the case, at worst, we have options to tweak the midfield. On the other end of the spectrum, Mac is turning into one of the best midfielders in the world.

If Dybala can stay injury free for remaining of this year, I dont need to worry about Messi physical condition upcoming CA.

Mac is brilliant, I heard one Liverpool You Tuber describe him as being Liverpool's Modric. Wow.

Yet Rashford is exempt from criticism despite being a forward and having less goal than Enzo...

Nico Gonzalez with a penalty miss today vs Lazio.. Fiore still ended up winning 2-1 though.

Beltran also started and played most of the match (subbed out at the end), while Infantino watched from the bench (hasn’t seen a single Serie A minute on the pitch since early October and has now extended his unused sub streak to 18 consecutive matches).

On the other side, Castellanos came in for the Lazio in the last 15 minutes. Taty only has 2 goals in 31 games this season for Lazio. Maybe he should have stayed in Girona, where he was finding his rhythm last season.

Nico also missed his penalty a month ago vs Inter. The way he takes his penalty does not bring confidence to me and hopefully he is not chosen as one of the penalty takers for the NT.

Castellanos has been getting sporadic minutes here and there and for a few of his full 90 minute games, he's been able to get a goal contribution. But agreed, he should have stayed at Girona but not sure if he could have since he was just loaned there. Hopefully, this is just a season to get used to the team and the league and next year, he can kick it off.

On other hand , Dybala has scored 39 penalties missing just 5.

Taty isnt a youngster anymore, to me he's just one of those 1 season wonder. In fact if you take out his 4 goals against Real madrid, he had less than 10 goals that season. He shouldnt be a consideration for NT .

Enzo's not even playing bad, his forwards can't even put a ball in the back of the net. Countless times he's put a through ball or a forward on a break with his passes or through balls.

So, we go from playing the two AFCON Finalists to playing a couple minnows. Just wonderful.

Tapia shows his true colour as expected. I highly doubt he actually has any kind of long term plan when he hired Scaloni. He just happened to hit a jackpot.

Think he's a great 3rd choice striker. Considering it was his first season ever in Europe at mid-size club in Spain, think that is a good return. Even Messi never scored 4 goals past RM.

I anticipate the WC26 keeping the 26 squad size, so he might be in contention.

At this rate, we might just play all the Central American countries while the rest of the Conmebol are playing European teams.

    Thanks a lot Tapia.

That comparison is way off since Messi scores countless goals against every other teams aswell while outside that 4 goals against RM, Taty was just average at best. Even that he only did it for one season. I remember Gaich got the winning goal against Juventus and it turns out nothing more than a blip in his career.

At the moment behind Lautaro and Julian is obviously Dybala. Going by stats, Angel Correa currently has 8 goals & 2 assists and he's not even old player.

4 goals against a reigning La Liga and European champion at a midsize club is still an impressive accomplishment that will be in La Liga history. Even without those 4 goals, Taty had a good season considering all those considerations. Gaich was a lost cause ever since he decided to move to Russia so no use in comparing him.

Don't think Scaloni sees Dybala and A. Correa as a 9 even if I want to see them both try there.

Rumors are the Nigeria FA did not want to pay for them to come to LA. No idea how true this is but I did find it a bit strange having Nigeria here in LA and El Salvador out East.

Two things. Tapua is Don Julio and the overweight so and so needs to go otherwise I can see Scaloni leaving. Messi could perhaps have a word.

Enzo's metrics which are important not what some lazy journalist says are among the best in the PL in a team that is not functioning as a unit. The number of times Enzo has found himself in space only to be ignored is extremely high.

My high school team is available for any of the Argentina friendlies, just saying in case Costa Rica or Guatemala, or Nevis, or Puerto Rico can't make it.

I want to make it clear to Tapia that the South Jersey #15 ranked senior varsity team that I played for is ready any time. . . some of the guys are not in the best shape right now, but hey!! That doesn't matter! BECAUSE NO MATTER HOW SUCKY THE OTHER TEAM MIGHT BE, THEY CAN STILL PLAY HIGH TAKE FRIENDLIES AGAINST THE DEFENDING WORLD & SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMPION!!

Great job by AFA. . . this is how we lose players' interest.

    March friendlies

    Colombia:
    vs Spain
    vs Romania

    Brazil
    vs England
    vs Spain

    Chile
    vs Albania
    vs France

    Paraguay
    vs Russia

    Ecuador
    vs Guatemala
    vs Italy

    Venezuela
    vs Italy
    vs Guatemala

    Argentina
    vs El Salvador
    vs Costa Rica

Tapia and AFA knew with the UEFA nations league, friendlies vs European oppositions is very limited and this window of opportunity was known for years. Not to mention originally thinking of going all the way to China for a cashgrab, which the team already did in summer 2023. I don't blame Scaloni at all if he wants to leave. As World Champions, the standard should be way higher and it's very disappointing.

So, I think this is what happened.

When we were going to play in China, the government was going to give the AFA a flat rate. It was likely going to be high and the ticket sales were not going to be a part of the agreement. That all changed.

So, when the games got moved to the US, the organizers likely made a deal with the AFA the deal would include a large chunk of the ticket sales. We would get a high percentage; the organizers a certain amount and peanuts to the opposing teams, El Salvador and Nigeria.

Well, Nigeria simply did not want to flip the bill for its team to travel to the US where they would have to pay for the flights, hotel expenses and get scraps for their services. Everything would likely been out of their own pocket. And they pulled out.

Naturally, a Central American side steps in because they will always want to play us, even if they have to pay something out of pocket.

This has been a trend from the AFA over the last few years, which is why we hardly ever play European sides even if the opportunity presents itself. There were talks to play England but it fell through because of rumors that the AFA wanted a chunk of the ticket sales.

This is why we always ended up playing in oil rich countries or a place like China against Brasil or something like that. The state governments would pay for it but not here in the states or in Europe where the organizers tell the footballing governing bodies that they will be paid accordingly via ticket sales and etc.

It really is a pain in the ass the only times we will play a European side is the World Cup. Yeah, we get the occasional juggernaut that is Estonia but other than that, we play Mexico, the Central America sides, and Brasil in the Middle East.

No wonder Scaloni is pissed. He wants challenges and we play pushovers. European powers should be jumping at the opportunity to play us and when they do, they balk when Tapia and goons want so much in return.

100%. The team don't learn anything playing in these type of games at all. Looking at the calendar, the next opportunity to play a European team would most likely be in March 2026 but even then, at the rate Tapia is going, we're probably going to be in the same situation again lol If we win the Copa America 2024, we might be able to play in the Finalissima 2025, but there's already the WCQ Conmebol matches scheduled in June 2025, not to mention the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup happening in that summer as well.

I'm not asking for a France, Germany, England and etc. You can also gain experience playing the likes of Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Russia and Greece.

Hopefully that talk that Scaloni had with Tapia wakes Tapia up, that he plans better and certain promises can be made.

He's incompetent and should not be an administrator. He's a slimeball whereas Scaloni is a prime example of humility and honesty. Rermember him crying when that kid was crying at the CONMEBOL presentation along with Enzo, Angelito and Emi. They really know what the WC win was about.

Even so slimeball and company couldn't organize a picnic.
