A Argentina Peru Chile Concacaf 5(Winner of Canada and T&T) B Mexico Ecuador Venezuela Jamaica C- USA Uruguay Panama Bolivia Brasil Colombia. Paraguay CRC/Hond So, no way we could play Uruguay or Brasil before a final. Pretty fair draw for us. Can't complain.
Yeah if they do manage to get out of the group and finish second, and if we do win our group, w can play them in Houston, which will be a home game for the Mexicans. But I wouldn't sweat it. It would be kinda funny if we send them packing again. But playing Ecuador could be a tricky matchup. Cannot take it lightly. I do wonder if they're going to do straight to PKs again until the final is reached. I kinda hate that.
Our opening game will be against either Canada or Trinidad Tobago (Atlanta on 6/20) Argentina v Chile (NYC on 6/25) Argentina v Peru (Miami on 6/29)
🚨🚨 Lionel Scaloni talks about his future: “I am here because I am still the coach, but I’m still thinking about my decision. I said after the Brazil game that it is a moment to think and I am still in that instance. I am calmly thinking, how everything goes, whether to… pic.twitter.com/0YOy3JAbM1— All About Argentina 🛎🇦🇷 (@AlbicelesteTalk) December 8, 2023
True, but we topped the group and beat Uruguay everytime they're in our group. Even Chile back in 2016, we beat them in group game. Argentina historically has been in 29 finals, so anything below semi will be a disaster. Only 2019 experimental team almost fail to qualify.
Man, the worst part of all this is that the outcome could determine the future of Scaloni/Messi with the NT
Kind of true , anything other than trophy will force messi to retire with the memories of 2022 WC. and scaloni may bail out as well.
To be fair if we win the Copa, after already being world champions, Copa holders, winning Finalissima, then for Messi that may be the best time to bow out. I don't want him to, I don't ever want him to stop playing football, I know I'll cry when he does finally retire, but it be the best time for him personally to retire from the NT.
It would put us in a tough spot. If Scaloni continues, so does Messi. If not, then Messi retires and we need to build a team for the World Cup within two years. What will be the determination for these players who just won everything? I’d worried about that. But if they have an important voice encouraging them to fight on, then they’ll be up for not again. We need a contingency. I’ve been saying this for a while now, Scaloni or whoever needs to bleed in some of these younger and incorporate them ASAP. And a lot of these senior players need to bow out. There is enough talent to seriously contend for the next title(s). Scaloni needs to start in March because if he thinks(and I don’t think he does) if he’s going to continue winning with this same group, then it will be a problem. Look at what happened to Italy in 2010 and Spain in 2014.
There are much older athletes playing much more intense sports and they are doing more than fine. Can't see how hard it is for Messi to play 30 minutes especially considering the next wc format
Icardi likes to do two things, score goals and score with your wife. And he has already done one today - so, hide your wives. I believe he is now the leading goal scorer in the Turkish Super league
Please, he's only good at taking unwanted baby momma and tattooing other men's kids. He's the epitome of a cuck but he is a good looking loser on a turkish holiday i will give him that much.
Not just that, but many of the current squad has that "I'll fight to death for Messi" attitude during the past few years. When Messi isnt there anymore, would they maintain the same attitude and determination? This is why I'd love to see the younger players as soon as possible. The likes of Enzo, Julian , Cuti, Mac Licha and Lautaro are still young but the likes of Paredes, RDP, Gio, Guido, Acuna would be around 30-34 by the time of the next WC.
