How many bad passes have we had in this match? Good grief.

Jesus, I just tuned in 5 mins ago and the passing has been appalling! Looks like they’ve never touched a ball in their lives

    Wth is going on?

This is the same Uruguay side we trashed a month back, right?

Better showing in last 5 minutes, 2 chances. Papu has been pretty good.

I dont think Messi needs to play but I guess he needs some minutes since he wants to play against Brazil badly.

Uruguayans: “this is the same Argentina that trashed us a month back?!”

Jokes aside, I’ve always said Uruguay has the talent. It’s just a matter of hitting at the right time and making the most of your opportunities. Even when we beat them 3-0 in October they had a few chances to go up when it was 0-0 but Emi was on point.

They’re definitely one of the better CONMEBOL sides in terms of their player pool, they just need to get rid of some dead weight and learn to be more effective.

Well this is a big wake up call.

Some poor decisions with tactics, substitutions and playing players out of position.

I hope the lessons will be learnt and that some of the so called fringe players get some more time as soon as possible. Just to remind the incumbents their spots are not guaranteed.

We can play well without Messi. We have done so before a few times but this evening has been a muddle without plan.

This is also how we actually looked at Copa first few games, especially against Paraguay. After Papu scored, they attacked us all day.

A little overdue. de Paul is naturally a roaming central midfielder not a deep lying playmaker. He's had by his usual high standards a very poor game as a result.

Palacios comes in and Nandez immediately gets subbed off.

Nice guy Tabarez saving Naihtan from the Madrid flashbacks!

I would like to see what Dybala could do with all these chances that Tucu is getting....

Naturally gifted but without any football IQ. Can pull off the spectacular but also the most boneheaded decisions as well. Much prefer we take the other Correa to the Mundial if needs be.

    And another lucky escape. :p:eek::(

The Di Maria syndrome. Hopefully he ends up scoring in a final vs Brazil like Angelito

Uruguay are so much quicker and more vertical than they were all Copa America. This infusion of young blood has done wonders for them. Plenty of potential in this side.

I hope so. But Angelito has been more talented and his sometimes odd decisions have been because of his belief in his ability and to be fair to him you cannot blame him. Tucu sometimes tries the simple and that turns into a poor decision.

They wont be able to play with this kind of intensity for few consecutive games. They dont actually come up with good passing or build up play, it just hard pressing.

Also, Messi seems to be reluctant to accelerate, I dont think he's 100% and we all know that.

Acuna has always been underrated performance, he must have had an extra lung.

Now, they’ll have to go into La Paz with a days less rest. They’ve gave up everything here. If they lose here, and go into Bolivia and cannot get a W it is time to hit the panic button. Supposedly, a replacement is in place but they’re giving the old man one last chance.
