    "idiot" Scaloni?

The guy who has won 2 Copa Americas and a World Cup? our most successful manager ever? The guy who has out coached every manager he faced?

Also, Berterame plays for Mexico not his country of birth.

This is why I dont take some people's opinion seriously. They have selective amnesia.

The constant bashing of players/manager who led us into 4 trophies within 5 years while reliving the glory days of the trophyless years from 1994-2019. They probably have pictures of Roman , Tevez, Veron and Mascherano on their wall, and still coping when they saw the likes of Otamendi, Acuna, RDP, Paredes, Montiel and Lo Celso lifting an actual trophies.

There really isnt much scaloni can do. Maybe Soule omission but thats about it. We just dont have that many options. You can cry about Simeone, the Afa and trump lol but we just dont have anyone hitting peak like the series of aces we got from Dibu, Romero, Enzo, Alvarez all appearing at the right the time. Just hope the players overperform as they usually do and we have 50% vs other top teams. I have zero expectations of being as dominant as 22'. You would be delusional thinking back to back world cup is normal.

Also, Berterame is absolute dogpiss. Just an absolute clogger of a striker. Would be our 94309403th best option up front ffs.

While I don't disagree with you, Paz needs more integration to the team so he can be at his best in the Albiceleste. In the limited minutes he's had, there have been a few jitters and nervousness to work out, but the talent is clearly there.

Apparently, Almada had a howler, red card and penalty conceded. So what is Barco doing these days? I really hope he wins that LM spot.

I know I'll get a lot of crap for this, but Barco and Nico are a nice Jekyll and Hyde type for the LM spot with opposite strengths, will allow our team to adjust to opponents better.

Atletico rested like half of their main squad , definetely their mind is on CL only.

With that brace he now has 1 more goal than Almada this season. What a great season for him:laugh:

Good goal... but he was terrible for most of the 90 mins, again. Looks like his body is hurting when he is trying to run. Even jogging looks tough for him.

I mean, all Scaloni ever did was do what he saw on here. Oddly though, ONLY the things that work out.

The truth is, we do have players these days who actually performs well in NT even if they dont always perform consistently at club level. It used to be the opposite. You have guys like Roman, Veron, Tevez, Higuain, Aguero, Zanetti, Milito, Heinze etc who consistently delivers at club level but then we'd lose 3-0, 4-0 , 4-1 or choked out on penalties when it really matters.

In last 5-6 years people keeps questioning players like RDP, Paredes, Lo Celso, Montiel and Acuna. Some people here mocked Lautaro for being a choker, until he proof everyone wrong.

If this is the case, then we should assume that he will not be going to the WC

Comical for them to try to suspended him for that when it’s literally said multiple times a day per game by different players.

Oh well, I just think he was a fringe player anyways. An Almada or Correa like player from 2022.

    A couple things.

Simeone is a destroyer of players. That's for sure. Second, Scaloni preached about "Wanting players who are producing and playing..." So the question begs, "Why is Almada basically untouchable?" Is really that important? Yeah, okay, he scored a goal here and there in qualifiers but that was a long time ago. I think Scaloni needs to really think about dropping him.

    Great pass from Molina

Best thing about 2026 so far is the return of form from Molina

Honestly, it's hard to drop Almada just to the lack of options in the LW.

Nico Gonzalez? Better as a sub against tired legs.
Barco? his lack of pace does not suit him and he's much better in CM.
Giuliano? Probably an option to which Scaloni did try before, but similar to Nico Gonzalez, Giuliano is better as a sub.
Garnacho? No at his current form.

Preferably, I would have Soule at LW, even though he's much better as a RW. Scaloni should even consider Silvetti, as he already established that chemistry with Messi.

As labeling Nico Paz Real Madrid’s “first reinforcement”, claiming everything is set for him to join after the World Cup

I hope RM sells him, but at the same time, it could be a good opportunity for Paz and Mastantuono to train and play with each other. Both of them will be the face of the national team in the future.

Almada is objectively a better player for Argentina's playing style just like Gonzalez and Simeone are objectively better for Atletico's.

I'd honestly take even freaking Prestianni over Gonzalez (a player I've grown to despise) but he's been banned by uefa so not even that is possible.

@locoxriver how would you say is Acuña's form this year? I do think that Acuña will be there in the WC. Injury problems aside, just need him to be physically capable to compete.

Sad part is that none of the other alternatives at LB convince me (and I'm sure that's what Scaloni is thinking too)

If Acuna & Otamendi play in this WC, the only missing piece would be ....Pezzella.
