Lol slow your roll… Scaloni has made mistake after mistake: just because he won everything doesn’t mean his decision making should be accepted blindly. That’s like saying we should have had faith in Scaloni for prioritizing Joaquin Correa as the backup 9 ahead of Julian. It was complete madness, and if Joaquin hadn’t gotten injured at the time we could very likely not be WC champs today. Same for Dibu taking Armani’s starting spot just because of Pulpo having a positive COVID test before the start of Copa America... or Enzo pretty much being ignored until Lo Celso’s injury forced Scaloni to call him up shortly before the WC. Right now his constant calling up of Acuña is baffling, as was his obsession with Pezzella at one point. He is not immune to making bad decisions, and actually has quite the track record of it. Although he obviously deserves credit, a lot of chance variables have saved Scaloni on multiple occasions as well. I think it’s more than fair to question his decision making and believe we should be doing so if we want to keep on winning titles
Scaloni insta infallible but he does get a lot of flack on here way more than deserved considering everything.
Now, you are putting words into my mouth lol. I never said that we should be blindly accept all of his decision. Having a little bit more faith in him, that's all. At the end of the day, he still made the correct final decisions for most of the situation that you mentioned and now he is arguably the best international coach in the history of football with those decisions. Acuña is a big mistake imo, but we have discussed this multiple times in this forum, the LB position is the position where depth is seriously lacking.
Scaloni right now somewhere in La Coruña if the AFA had money in 2018... There are a lot of players who have no business going to this tournament but Scaloni wants to keep the boys happy.
Senesi is simply not a high quality player. He'll give you a good game here and there but the guy struggled against some African side that nobody can find on a map. Plus, when I look at hime, I do see a player that is confident. He does not have that fear factory. In fact, he comes off as a player who hopes that does not commit a mistake. He's clumsy at times, doesn't read the game all that well, flatfooted and slow. I've seen enough of his candy ass with the seleccion where I say, "I'm good..." I am trying to think when was the last time he had a good match for us...
Madness from Scaloni...
Having watched several of his game at Bournemouth, Senesi can perform much better for the national team. I honestly have Anselmino above Senesi, but as a 3rd/4th CB option, Senesi is good.
The LB option is very concerning. I really do think that we may need to consider Licha as a potential back up LB option or just go with the back 3 if Tagliafico is injured/suspended.
I just don’t understand his love for Lo Celso. He’d leave Colo at home who can play multiple positions for an average player who has been injured most of the year.
And we wouldnt have gotten any of the trophies without him. He gave Otamendi a new lease on life. His masterclass in 2021 final is one for the ages as is the one against France.
lol Anselmino is hurt again. I have given up on him for now. He's young still but there's zero reason to think he can stay healthy for any meaningful amount of time.
I do prefer Colo over Lo Celso in the LCM role, but Lo Celso is still a quality player who can make an impact. Think there is space for both in the squad.
How come you only mentioned Otamendi... here's arguably the best comeback from any player in history, thanks to Scaloni.
At the end of the day, its all about trophies. Unless some people are satisfy with u20 and Olympics, they can keep glorifying Bielsa and Pekerman. I do think Otamendi shouldnt be on the squad, but at least he's dare to relegated him to the bench in CA 2024 and he's also willing to starts Nico Paz instead of RDP.
Wouldnt be suprised if this WC will be remmebered for the list of players who could've played but couldnt because of injury. The amount of matches these footballers play now is insane.
He walked off on his own, so I do not think it was an ACL. It's an MCL, so that means, MCL recoveries: Grade 1 (mild) = 1-3 weeks; Grade 2 = 4-6 weeks. If he tore it, a Grade 3, he will need surgery.
He'll be fine, it's probably just a knock and bruise You don't walk up on your own like that with both feet 3 weeks probably knock on wood Dibu's isn't that serious either, it was just precaution lo celso back as well that man who pushed cuti, didn't get a red card, european refs are a joke.
