The Finalissima is becoming a giant headache. The Gallegos now want the match in the Bernabéu, but we are against it. The Qataris still want it held in Doha. There is something like 60 million euros involved with TV rights and etc., at least toward the Spanish side. I am not sure what cut the AFA would be getting, but we want it held elsewhere, perhaps in Italy. The Gallegos are making much more of a push for the final to be played in the Spanish capital. I would just say cancel this thing. There are too many logistical issues, but money is money. I was going to say that if we do end up dropping out, the Gallegos would have pushed for the Colombians to take our spot, but they have matches against Croatia and France during that time.

 

Just play them in Spain, not like there aren't a lot of Argentines there. At least I wouldn't be afraid. Let's see a real challenge for once and if we get smashed so be it we need the reality check. Whatever happens in Finalissima or friendlies prior to WC will not reflect both teams performance at WC. The WC itself would be a different situation as a whole. We came to last WC after long unbeaten run only to be beaten by Saudi but then eventually lifted the trophy. Spain beating us 6-1 prior to WC 2018 , only to be eliminated by mother Russia. We beat Germany in Germany prior to WC 2010 with mighty Higuain scoring the winner. If this match gets cancelled then the actual blame would be on that bootleg Euro tournament.

Tapia and his three-dollar-looking fade is just talking for the sake of talking. It will not be played at the Monumental for a few reasons. Of course the Gallegos will not want it there for the same reason we will not want it in Madrid. Second, the travel simply will not make sense, at least for them. We do not care about the travel. I think it could seriously be canceled. And honestly, it will not be a big deal.
