Bro, that extreme high line is suicidal, and he is making no concessions. When you don't have Pedri to control things, you simply have to take a more conservative approach. You get away with that hubris against lesser sides, but the moment you run into a side solid in the middle, you are done with.
By the way, Julian played a good match, though he had a bad miss in the first half. Good movement, good decision making, and finally broke the scoreless streak (12 matches, was it?) Musso had a good save in the 2nd half as well.
He's won them a title and lost in the Semis in the CL. After Xaviball flick has been incredible for Barca. JMO but without the high line I dont think they can dominate and score as much. That defensive line is going to get abused regardless. No one can defend to save their life. Aruajo is ass, as is Kounde. Cubarsi is a kid and Garcia is a decent squad player. Balde runs around doing nothing.
Watching the game of Hamburg vs Union Berlin, for me, Nico Capaldo has to be in the WC squad. He's at the very very least should be considered as the team's 3rd RB (although I'd argue that he is the 2nd best RB right now behind Molina) Really hope Scaloni calls him up in March
Don’t know much about him other looking at the stats, but he’s ranked Nr 1 on his team for both tackles and interceptions which is usually a good indicator of whether a defender is good or not. Hamburger SV - Football Statistics | WhoScored.com
The games that I've seen of him, he's good at interception. With his pace and combination play, any interceptions that he gets will result in a good attacking transition which can be useful. The fact that he played as a CM when he was at Salzburg has taught him the attacking phase that he needs like combination play and quick touches. Him playing as a RCB (RB when the team is attacking) at Hamburg has enhanced his defensive qualities. For me, I usually like to watch games if time permits and usually use stats to confirm what I am seeing. Just in the 1st half, he conceded a penalty, but he had so many good actions and he also got a goal today lol. If you have the time, I would bookmark the games vs Leipzig of March 1st and vs Leverkeusen of March 4th to see how he does against a good team.
Thanks for the insight! I’ll definitely check him out. I’m not a fan of our current right backs, so if this guy is better, Scaloni should really consider him, especially after his recent comments. Him giving away a penalty is slightly worrisome tho
For the penalty incident, he'll learn from experience that is very easy to avoid the next time. He made up for it with his goal and his other good actions right now.
Seems like Prestianni has established himself in the Benfica starting XI, but mainly playing as a RW. Knowing how we have a lack of option on the LW, wouldn't be surprised if he is in contention of a WC squad place.
I don't believe this, you can't be worried about the level of some players and at the same time having De Paul as a starter while playing in the MLS.
When Villalreal beat MU on penalties to win Europa few years ago, Rulli penalty stop proof to be crucial but that only happened after MU scored 10 penalties against him.
Safe to say that they are not buddies Ataque Futbolero on X: "Ojo al duelo personal de hoy entre Gero Rulli y Joaquín Panichelli, en pleno Marsella-Strasbourg. “No lo patees, TE LO VOY A ATAJAR”, le avisó el arquero, pero el ‘9’ no falló, en el último minuto de partido… Tremendo. https://t.co/1IcaXQZ7J3" / X
Might still be fully fit for the Finalissima 💣🚨 BREAKING: Nico Gonzalez is INJURED and he will miss AT LEAST the next THREE games. The goal is to have him back for the Barça second leg.@marca pic.twitter.com/cC27w3aseX— Atletico Universe (@atletiuniverse) February 16, 2026
Assuming this is about Prestianni? If the allegations are true it's ********ing stupid and embarrassing. Enough already, guys. Learning nothing from the Enzo debacle.
a lot of these players are ignorant and low educated and don't understand what are the consequences of their actions consequences are everyone hating you and eufa banning you
Thanks god he show how stupid he is before the WC, because I was complety sure Scaloni had him very high on the list.
Everyone has a problem with Vini, he can be a pain in the ars, but no excuse if this is true. If Pristiani said something innapropriate, then the punishment should be without delay.
The antics of Prestianni and Otamendi too are a sad reflection of the present state of education in our country. We should appreciate guys like Messi or Julián more, they've become the exception in our system.
Expected, not sure how you can prove this though. Good thing that there is more focus on refcam being implemented. 🚨 BREAKING: Gianluca Prestianni statement after Vini Jr case.“I want to clarify that at no time did I direct racist insults to Vini Jr, who regrettably misunderstood what he thought he heard”.“I was never racist with anyone and I regret the threats I received from Real… pic.twitter.com/6y60hNu7bO— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) February 18, 2026
I'm not sure how it could ever be proven, but if you ask me whether Prestianni said some foul sh*t, I'd be willing to bet he did.
It will be interesting to see what UEFA does and what their investigation tells when they look at all the cameras
Yeah and the fact that Vini has faced such abuse before just makes it even stupider, both he and everyone witnessing it will be hyperaware of such things.
