Both Balerdi and Medina stayed in France for far too long and they both stagnated. Both should have left to a bigger European League in summer 2024.

Anselmino and Valentin Gomez both needs to be ahead of them.

Yea but I'm speaking of Alba contribution on the attacking play, he has 30+ assists for Messi (more than 10 assists for him at Miami alone).

On other notes, Lautaro scored another. He's now 6 goals clear at the top of serie A goal scoring chart. Nico Paz still tied at second place.

Como reached Coppa Italia semi, will play against Inter. Either Lautaro or Nico Paz will play in the final.

The other half has been verified by trusted sources.

Balerdi is a major liability and shouldn’t be anywhere near the national team. The match against Colombia highlighted his weaknesses. He was far too easy to bully physically. Apparently, Dembélé even mocked him saying he’s useless.

Kinda get Martinez Quarta vibes from Balerdi… like he can be solid on a good day and has good technique, but far too inconsistent and prone to blunders.

Doesn’t exactly give me the security needed for a WC, but hopefully he can find consistency

Although he's injury prone, I would take Anselmino ahead of Balerdi or Medina. The guy has it all.

Agreed, but I think that it's more like he has taken a step back this season, though I haven't been able to see him much. Last season, he was progressing quite nicely and was completely deserving of being called up. I still would not have a problem with him being 4th or 5th in the pecking order as of now.

Balerdi isn't, and never will be, good enough to be trusted against a good opponent. He has no strengths whatsoever, just average on everything you need in a CB.

Apparently, Scaloni is seriusly worried about the low level of the players ahead of the finalissima and the WC.

    No shit

If Scaloni had real talk with players of playing time at the top level (like Molina) or called up players who had a genuine chance of making the squad (like Soule), then this wouldn't be happening

Exactly. What kind of signal do you send to players who want to play for the NT if your performances or form doesn’t matter? Especially in worthless friendly matches

Great result for the Argentines at Atletico, now watch Cholo park 9 men behind the goal at camp nou and lose it on penalties.

EVERY single time I watch Athletico play, Guliano is good to excellent. He WRECKED that left side of Barca's defense and was man of the match for me. He is perfect for Scaloni's project.
By the way, Flick's arrogance will be his ultimate undoing.

I've been saying this for a while. I used to criticize him even last year, but this season he has improved big time, so credit to him. In modern game you need some players of his mold.

I agree with you up until Flick. He doesn't have shit to work with. yet is keeping barca competitive.

Simeone should go to the WC. I see him used in the RDP/Palacios role.

Agree. We need hardworking, hustling player like him who will constantly run and track back but also be decisive in the final third.

And he has something we lack a lot of; pace. Sooner or later it has to click for him in a Albiceleste kit as well. He does seem to fit a sit back and counter type of style though, without space to run into he struggles a bit.

For sure, we lack pace and width. Most of our wing players cut inside and like to get the ball rather making runs behind, so we need that kind of options as well.
