We got Jordan as the final member. Really gentle draw though I'd be a little wary of that first game against Algeria, could be a Saudi repeat.
Group of death that. Senegal and Norway are very strong. We should stroll our group if we pick the right squad and get the chance to field the reserves against Jordan. Algeria and Austria are decent but again we should get past them. If not we don't deserve to get any further anyway.
As much as we can’t underestimate any team, we’ve been lucky with the group draw. However, the road to the final will be much tougher. I’m worried that by not facing stronger teams earlier, we might be in for a shock when we go up against a level up team like Uruguay or Spain. We could also face Portugal in the quarters or England.
Could also have a Messi vs CR7 QF if Argentina and Portugal both win their groups and make it to that stage in knockouts
Infantino had his tongue so far up Trump's backside he could probably clean his tonsils. Anyway, good draw for Argentina, let the tweets about it being a FIFA fix begin.
Allende is on a run of a lifetime. Earlier in the season, he couldn't hit an open net, but he has grown in confidence over the course of the season, and I'd say that over its final third, he has shown deadly speed and increasingly consistent finishing. It's to the point where he has a handful of top-notch goals on his resume now. He's also shown some physical strength and a willingness to work hard. I don't know where his progression will take him, but he's been showing a lot of promise.
I mean, that wasn't an issue last time. Group was easy then too, and we faceplanted in the first game.
Not the easiest group, then Uruguay, Egypt/or Australia, Portugal and Brazil/or England. Pretty tough road for Argentina to get to the final.
I know it's more travel, but I kind of hope Argentina avoids Kansas City in group stage. San Francisco should be better weather and Dallas is indoors. KC is gonna be outdoors and HOT.
I wouldn’t be worried if we played Uruguay in the R32. I know it would be a physical match but Uruguay is absolute dog shit right now. I think that game will be in Miami. If we win that, we will play the runners up from D and G. Neither of those groups, from top to bottom scares me. In the quarters, things can get interesting, depending who wins group K. That winner can potentially play a dangerous opponent in the R16. A lot of things can happen. It’s not as cut and dry as previous tournaments.
I was thinking about this too, but if we win the group and get to the QF, the venue is in Kansas City. Seeing how easier our group is compared to others, maybe it's not a bad idea to have the game in Kansas, let the lads experience it and maybe they will have some learning lessons and prepared if we get to the QF. Ideally, we get SF in the 1st game, then Central venues in both the 2nd and 3rd game to avoid the back and forth with the time difference and lesser travel.
